Welcome to the Next Phase

Greetings Gamer Nation!

Starting this month you’ll be seeing some changes to the blog. We’ll be introducing four new daily article series written exclusively by some our most talented writers.

A new series written by our copy-editor Linda Whitson will focus pretty heavily on new characters and stats and continue to feature her own original character artwork. Additionally you’ll be treated to reviews of gaming sourcebooks, modules, and other materials. And Linda’s take on various aspects of gaming: mechanics, online games, even “Etiquette and protocol.”

Longtime d20radio writer Ben Erickson, author of the fine Sentinels Spotlight and There’s and Adventure in That, will be bringing you a mix of articles each week with no particular focus or game system in mind. Some may focus on bringing in original content for games that he enjoys, some may be to promote games that he doesn’t feel get the credit or recognition they deserve. And some will very likely focus on tweaking or adapting rules in games to run a particular type or style of game that the developers may have not have originally intended.

Our long running series looking at squadrons for the X-wing miniatures game will continue. Now it will begin taking a broader look at the game as well as taking occasional detours into other gaming topics. Stay on target for a first look at the games stress mechanic and we’ll soon be updating the “What to Buy” posts with wave 8.

Our final weekly series by Christopher Hunt focuses on Fantasy Flight Games’ Star Wars Roleplaying Game, with content aimed mostly at the Gamemaster. Threats, adventure seeds, rules supplements, and more are all to come for those who access The HoloNet Uplink.

Ask a Gamer

So what will happen to the old daily series? Well, they might not appear every week but they aren’t going away. We’ll still be seeing new character concepts, board game reviews, rules discussions and other more from our pool of game writers. At least one will appear every Friday but you might also see a week where every day is double stacked with quality articles about games.

I would also like to take a moment to remind you all of of a few things.

If you would like to join the pool of writers you can contact “gmwayne @ d20radio.com” (delete the spaces).  We’re always looking for new people to share their thoughts with the rest of the Gamer Nation.

If writing isn’t your thing but you feel a desire to see these gaming articles continue, consider supporting our Patreon campaign. For as little as $3 a month you can help ensure all of our fine writers are well paid for their articles.
