Welcome to Force Week

It should come as no surprise to anyone that we here at d20 Radio’s Gamer Nation blog love Star Wars. The whole network originated with a podcast devoted entirely to Star Wars roleplaying after all. As you might expect we are pretty excited for the upcoming release of Episode VII (excited and nervous that we won’t get burned again).

When we learned that Disney had decreed that September 4th would be Force Merchandise day and that all new Episode VII products would be released simultaneously, we all started fidgeting excitedly and eagerly watching the calendar. For myself, as a huge X-Wing mini’s fan I am super excited by the prospect of new ships being revealed and released at the same time. FFG is notorious for their releases being a bit behind schedule, so the prospect of not having to wait 6-10 months to play a new ship is pretty cool.

In anticipation of the coming flood of new Star Wars Episode VII themed products, we here at the Gamer Nation decided to take a look back on Star Wars products that have come before. We’re going to look at each of the existing Star Wars Roleplaying games, build a single character in several of these systems, take a look at other Star Wars themed games and what other wonderful toys have been around to help enhance and feed, our obsession.

This will all build up to the big reveals on Friday. We don’t know any more than you, Reader, about what new gaming products will be coming our way, but rest assured will cover what we learn. Though if you look around, you can find some leaks out there on the web already.

Strap in, lock S-foils in attack position and may the Force be with you as we begin Force Week.
