Dad bods are out!

Dad bards are in!

Now, I’m clearly not the first person to make this joke, but I can’t resist some clever wordplay (or even some not-so-clever wordplay) and knew that I had to make something based on this. A Dad Bard can come from any ancestry or any background – there is no special quality to become a Dad Bard beyond a deep and abiding love for bad jokes and for taking care of one’s allies. Indeed, the Dad Bards count a number of women and creatures that don’t have “traditional” familial roles as humans and other people do among their number and readily recognize each other as such.

A Dad Bard is quick with a joke, a word of encouragement, and a strong and steady arm to back up their allies. For the forces of evil that stand against them, they turn their considerable magical talents to making sure when they go down, they stay down. Unlike the Dad Bard – just give them a minute to rest their eyes. The stat block below captures a “traditional” Dad Bard, but again, ancestry and gender doesn’t determine a Dad Bard, so feel free to make changes as necessary to tailor it to your own vision.
