Gentlebeings, it has been an absolute honour to run the HoloNet Uplink for the past, three? Wow. Three years. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. Today I must bid farewell to the HoloNet Uplink as I take on new projects.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll take this my farewell article to awkwardly and aimless reminisce about the series. Writers prerogative, I\u2019m going to sneak a few comments about some pre-HoloNet Uplink firsts in as well. Let\u2019s begin with some firsts.<\/p>\n

Firsts<\/h3>\n

First Article: Rules Lawyer \u2013 Purchasing Mechanics<\/a> (July 29, 2015)<\/h4>\n

From the early times before the blog was cool with using copyrighted imagery. I had completely forgotten my first post was such an academic overview. Reading it now, I don\u2019t remember writing it but I do recognize my own voice.<\/p>\n

To my fellow writers, have you ever looked back on something you\u2019ve written years ago? What strange feeling to see this forgotten, yet familiar text.<\/p>\n

First Star Wars Article: Black Market \u2013 Hunter\u2019s Armoury<\/a> \u2013 The Basics (July 30, 2015)<\/h4>\n

Ahhh, I vaguely remember this post. I don\u2019t remember the details, but I recognize my earlier trademark style. Three or so section headings, a conclusion, and a call for readers to chime into the comments below. I also see I used the non-American spelling of armoury!<\/p>\n

With the sheer number of books out now, I wonder how someone else would tackle an article on the basics of bounty hunter gear! Maybe someone will write that soon?<\/p>\n

First Holonet Uplink: Rebellion in a Box Campaign Concept<\/a> (February 4, 2016)<\/h4>\n

Hey! Bet you folks haven\u2019t seen the budget matrix binary hallway image in a while. Pretty sure I could\u2019ve come up with something better, but that was the best free image I could find in 73 seconds of searching.<\/p>\n

I actually quite liked these campaign outlines, although I never got the sense they were very in demand. One of my regrets is perhaps never \u201ccracking the code\u201d as to how to do these in a compelling manner. Maybe someone can show me how to do it?<\/p>\n

Stats<\/h3>\n

Once I began the HoloNet Uplink, I decided it was best for focus on my own brand of Star Wars<\/em> content. In honour of this farewell, I decided to run some basic stats on the types of content I posted on HoloNet Uplink. I roughly categorized them and put the data in the table below. Can you tell I\u2019m a social scientist?<\/p>\n

While I jumped around a lot at the beginning, I think this table makes it pretty clear I quickly became an \u201cNPC and Ships Guy.\u201d I was surprised by these totals. I guess they really add up over time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
