Months ago, I gave stats to the majestic space whales known as the purrgil<\/a>. Some laughed, some cried, and one person was brave enough to ask for more. While browsing through Wookieepedia<\/a>, as I do for “research,” I noticed that the largest of these creatures now has a name. Creatively named purrgil ultra<\/a>, these behemonths are capable of wrecking all but the heaviest of starships. Now that it is Wookieepedia official, I believe it is high time to make it HoloNet Uplink unofficial.<\/p>\n

Purrgil Ultra [Nemesis]<\/h3>\n

Uncommon even among the rarely sighted purrgils, the purrgil ultra are massive creatures analogous to frigates in size. These creatures can be distinguished from their lesser brethren not only by the immense size differences, but by a series of protruding spines along the beast’s head. Their immense size hints at an incredible strength: these creatures can crush small starships and even swallow targets whole. Despite this heavy mass, purrgil ultra remain highly agile in vacuum and atmosphere alike.<\/p>\n

Little more than basic facts are known to xenobiologists. Purrgil ultra have been sighted only a handful of times in recent decades. These sighting often coincide with mass observation of lesser purrgil. While slightly larger purrgil, known to spacers colloquially as “purrgil kings,” are seen leading flocks of eight creatures, purrgil ultra appear to lead swarms of composed of multiple such flocks. These flocks, as well as the purrgil ultra itself, would logically require massive amounts of Clouzon-36, the gas used by purrgils to naturally jump to lightspeed. Thus, spotting a purrgil ultra in deep space could mean a massive pay off to prospectors and miners – if they can avoid angering the beast and its companions.<\/p>\n

Abilities:<\/strong>\u00a0Silhouette 6, Vacuum Dweller (can survive in vacuum without penalty, and can move in a vacuum environment), Natural Hyperjumps (Purrgils naturally travel through hyperspace. A purrgil can make the jump to hyperspace by expending two maneuvers and an action. Purrgils are always counted as having a navicomputer.), Space Faring (Adapted to life in space, the purrgil moves as if it was a starship with Speed 2. Purrgils substitute Athletics for Piloting checks.)<\/p>\n
