{"id":13325,"date":"2018-03-14T07:00:37","date_gmt":"2018-03-14T12:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/?p=13325"},"modified":"2018-03-06T20:50:48","modified_gmt":"2018-03-07T02:50:48","slug":"rogue-squadron-subjective-ship-rankings-imperial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/rogue-squadron-subjective-ship-rankings-imperial\/","title":{"rendered":"Rogue Squadron &#8211; Subjective Ship Rankings- Imperial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Toward the end of last year, I set upon a project to try and rank all of the X-wing ships using an objective set of\u00a0criteria (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/rogue-squadron-imperial-ship-rankings\/\">Imperial<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/rogue-squadron-rebel-ship-rankings\/\">Rebel<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/rogue-squadron-scum-ship-rankings\/\">Scum<\/a>).\u00a0 The goal was a pure look at stats. The results were&#8230;mixed. While I stand by that\u00a0methodology and still consider it a worthwhile exercise, it really did only look at a part of what makes a ship good. The biggest flaw was it lacked any way to objectively look at pilot abilities.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to give it another go, this time in the opposite direction. So, I&#8217;m going entirely by gut feeling. This feeling is influenced by tournament performance, my experience with the ships\/pilots, ship base stats and inevitable personal preference. So this is heavily weighted by personal preference. They are just too expensive to fully load out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>They have lots of build potential that is hampered by overall cost. It&#8217;s really hard to build one of these that is worth the points you have to pay for it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-9089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170306_162238-e1488842589928-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>16th Place &#8211; Upsilon Shuttle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stats- 15th\n<ul>\n<li>Four attack dice is hampered by a bad dial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Pilots- 16th<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 14th\n<ul>\n<li>There are a lot of options available for this ship. System + 2x crew + 2x tech + Coordinate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>You pay a lot for the four dice attack on this ship but can&#8217;t really make good use of it. Captain Jonus is still great support. And the generics are nice and cheap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 11th\n<ul>\n<li>TIE Shuttle really keeps this ship in consideration. Two crew on a cheap support ship gives some options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>The Bomber is a lot cooler than it used to be thanks to recent upgrades.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-6927\" src=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/TIEFighter-e1474241452972-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>13th Place &#8211; TIE Fighter<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stats- 14th<\/li>\n<li>Pilots- 10th\n<ul>\n<li>A lot of the pilots are still kind of fun.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 9th\n<ul>\n<li>There are almost no upgrades you can put on this but that does ensure you don&#8217;t overload it with upgrades so all builds are economical.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>Cheap filler ship is all this ship really has going for it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-6929\" src=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/TIEInterceptorelite-e1474241582409-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>12th Place &#8211; TIE Interceptor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stats- 10th<\/li>\n<li>Pilots- 9th\n<ul>\n<li>Soontir Fel! Carnor Jax! Kestal is kind of evil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 3rd\n<ul>\n<li>TLT + LWF, cheap and efficient.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>This is a pretty blah but efficient ship. If only it had a generic with an EPT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 15th\n<ul>\n<li>You can&#8217;t build a Phantom cheaply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>Once a dominate ship, they have fallen out of favor due to the fragile hull, high cost and no autothrusters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-6921\" src=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/TIEAdvancedgrey-e1474241056122-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>8th Place &#8211; TIE Advanced<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stats- 11th\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s dial is pretty meh.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Pilots- 8th\n<ul>\n<li>Darth Vader rocks and Juno Eclipse is very fun to fly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 8th\n<ul>\n<li>There is a lot of potential with that free system slot. Accuracy Corrector on a two dice ship is very appealing for consistent damage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>I know what you&#8217;re thinking, how is this ranked so highly? Plus you can add cannons and SLAM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>Overpowered? Nah. These are pretty well balanced. It is up there but when looking at everything I couldn&#8217;t justify it to myself. And it has a cheap pilot with an EPT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 7th\n<ul>\n<li>Not a lot of options but it can have super action economy with PTL and the title.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Overall Comments\n<ul>\n<li>A well balanced ship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-12496\" src=\"https:\/\/www.d20radio.com\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Silencer-e1513181428807-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>4th Place &#8211; TIE Silencer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stats- 1st\n<ul>\n<li>One of the best dials in the game. Good health, good attack, good defense.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Pilots- 12th\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m just not a fan of Kylo&#8217;s ability. And Blackout sounds cool but rarely comes up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Builds- 5th\n<ul>\n<li>System and Tech slots together gives you lots of options.
