This series follows the trials, tribulations, successes, and failures of a fairly inexperienced GM who has recently picked up the hobby after a long time away. It aims to assist new GM\u2019s by examining what worked, didn\u2019t work, and what failed miserably as he spins up new campaigns, modules, encounters, and adventures for his friends and family in Fantasy Flight Games\u2019 Edge of the Empire\/Age of Rebellion\/Force and Destiny system.<\/em><\/p>\n

(Warning, the following information may serve as spoilers to The Last Jedi.)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi\u00a0<\/em>is now out in the world and it’s time to start bringing some of the fun into our games!\u00a0 I love every new element introduced into the saga by Lucasfilm.\u00a0 So much creativity, love, and heart go into the creation of each one.\u00a0 It’s very clear when looking at the screen that everyone at LFL is a fan, just like us.<\/p>\n

Imperial Walkers have always fascinated us since 1980, and even now at the end of 2017, we love us some Walkers!\u00a0 So it is with that I present my run at the new\u00a0All-Terrain MegaCaliber Six (AT-M6) Walker to use in your Star Wars roleplaying games!<\/p>\n

Overview<\/h2>\n

The\u00a0All-Terrain MegaCaliber Six (AT-M6) is also known as a First Order Heavy Assault Walker.\u00a0 It is much larger than the traditional AT-AT of the Galactic Empire, and has a much different design.\u00a0 It is the largest walker in the First Order, and gets its name from the huge “megacaliber six” cannon on its back.\u00a0 The unique features of the AT-M6 make it a much more stable design than that of the Imperial Walkers of old.<\/p>\n

In the movie, we don’t get to see them do too much, so I’m going to make some assumptions on a few observations and interviews with the designers.\u00a0 First, they are much more heavily armored than the classic AT-ATs.\u00a0 The hull is thicker, and it can withstand quite capable artillery fire like we saw the Resistance fire at them from Crate.\u00a0 Also, they were specifically designed to counter the classic Rebellion tactic of tying them up with Snowspeeder harpoon cables.\u00a0 The knuckles are turned backwards and the shoulders are higher, giving it more stability and handling.\u00a0 The thickness of the legs is designed to snap the cables, and even if rounded up, the simian-like front legs allow the walker to sort of sit down and lower the front slowly, or stay propped up on the front legs as well.<\/p>\n

The AT-M6 also has a new large, heavy laser cannon on its shoulders.\u00a0 The front legs allow the cannon to face upwards and even point downwards by either standing up tall or bending at the new knuckles.<\/p>\n

Scott is a veteran of several role playing, table top miniatures, video, and board games, starting with the Atari 2600 when he was 6, and the classic red box Dungeons and Dragons game when he was 12. After a long hiatus away from the hobby, Scott has recently picked up gaming once again, and is running two different campaigns in Fantasy Flight Games' Edge of the Empire\/Age of Rebellion\/Force and Destiny lines. He is an avid X-Wing miniatures player, as well as Armada, Imperial Assault, Space Hulk, and Rebellion. (His family is obviously a Star Wars family, right?)
