Lasser Dragoon
Lasser Dragoon
Lasser was just a young Cathar Jedi Knight when he joined Revan’s cause, though in the beginning he opposed Revan. After an arrest warrant was placed on Revan and his followers, Lasser was amongst the group led by Vrook Lamar that attempted to capture Revan on Lasser’s own home planet. When Revan picked up the mask of the unnamed Mandalorian who sought to stop the slaughter of his people, however, the scene that transpired along the shoreline was enough to make Lasser immediately swear his loyalty to the man who had donned the mask and vowed revenge for the Cathar.
Lasser followed Revan into the inevitable conflict with the Mandalorians, and quickly distinguished himself in skirmishes and space combat, though part of that was due to the military genius of Revan himself. Lasser survived the ignition of the Mass Shadow Generator unscathed. When the Mandalorians were defeated, Lasser accompanied Revan’s fleet to the Unknown Regions to search for the Remnants of the Mandalorian Fleet.
Once in the Unknown Regions, however, Revan vanished. Others amongst the fleet said that he had returned to Republic space, but none could correlate that. The fleet had its orders; some were searching for some unnamed item, some were left guarding key space lanes, and some were tasked with providing the rest of the fleet with supplies. They all kept at their task, but after a few years, most of the fleet realized that Revan wasn’t coming back. Lasser himself, now a member of the fleet’s Small Council, advocated returning to Republic Space to look for Revan, but was turned down. Over time, sentiment grew to favor going back, and after a few decades, the Council decided to send a few dozen people back to look for Revan, and if necessary to pave the way for the return of the remainder of the fleet. Lasser quickly signed up to be among those returning.
Lasser was asked by one of the Fleet’s Jedi Elders to personally accompany a few young Jedi to the Core Worlds and turn them over to the Jedi Council for more “academic” training, and he agreed. The group of 66 people finally emerged into Republic Space, only to find a strikingly different world. Lasser was stunned to find that Revan had returned not as a hero, but as a Sith Lord, and had almost destroyed the Republic. This was not the Revan they knew.
Lasser dropped off the padawans he was escorting, then went into solitude to meditate on what he had learned. After a bit, he decided that Revan’s teachings were still valid, and that they should be passed down to later generations. Revan was persona non grata though amongst the Jedi, so Lasser knew that the only way to continue Revan’s lessons were to pass them on himself. Lasser contacted a number of the other original 66, and they agreed to meet. Once together, they agreed that something must be done, so they founded the Order of 66 to advance their ideas.
Lasser had not rejoined society, unlike some of the others, so he took a small group of the members of the Order and created a small compound on his homeworld, where Revan first began his crusade, and from there they were able to reach out to other members of the Order in an advisory capacity. Occasionally, he left the compound to perform tasks critical to the Order, such as recruiting members that others had identified as being ideal candidates for membership, as well as bringing the problematic Ander Fleetfire under control.
