Holocron Episode #11 Schedule of Events

Not a whole lot of news for you folks today, but here goes:

First, Happy Birthday to Joe, hope you’ve enjoyed yourself. Many happy returns and so forth.

Second, it looks like Holocron #11 will tentatively be recording live this coming Sunday. As promised, we will be talking Planets. We’ve done a big work up on the planets we know are going to be in the game so far. This means that we face the prospect of a rather large episode. Which is good, we like ‘em large.

Third, Sam Witwer has tentatively confirmed that he will indeed be with us. He’ll be helping out with the discussion of planets. I’m sure there will be other shenanigans as well. It is, after all, Sam Witwer and those of you who have heard him on our sister show, The Order 66 podcast, know what that means.

Fourth, even with all that we’ll provide coverage of whatever BioWare releases this Friday for SW:TOR. So yeah, a big show.

We’ll provide a little more information as to time and what not when we get a bit closer. For now though, we hope to see you all there in the live chat room. Until then, have fun.

Schedule Update

So, rather obviously, show 10 doesn’t include anything we said it would. But that’s because it turns out that Bioware makes updates which we can not resist and we just had to jump on and do a show to talk about it all. So, apologies for being all excited and stuff.

As for Sam Witwer’s guest appearance and our promised planetary overviews? Let’s think show #11 now. And that should be somewhere around May 15th. Or, as we like to call it, The Date of Ultimate Unsuckage. Stay tuned!

The Holocron Episode #10 “The Trooper”

Well, capitalizing on both the giant success the holocron has become and the fact that Bioware release a buttload of content on Friday, The Holocron stepped up with an episode devoted to the trooper. Join Dave, Joe and Brian as we talk all the juicy goodness we learned from Bioware this fine day.

After a brief respite, we continue with off topic bits called Captain’s Log : Supplemental (Daydreaming) and provide random musings with Kat, as we explore various topics related to blaster rifles and voices.

The Sounds of the Holocron

It’s been kind of a long night. Dave and I have been sitting around playing music and sound samples at each other trying to figure out what we want to use for various musical ‘bits’ in the show. Conservatively, we’ve listened to somewhere around 40 or 50 pieces of music between us. Total Useful items found: 1. So yeah, pretty productive. However, that 1 item…awesome. It’ll be backing the segment we’ve decided to call “Whispers of the Force”. Cool, eh? You can probably look forward to hearing it in the next episode.

While we’re on the subject of episodes, we want to do one main episode about every two or three weeks. It just fits better with everyone’s schedule at this point, but, as Beta approaches, we plan on going weekly with full episodes. In the meantime you can probably expect to hear some intermediate installments in the in-between weeks featuring whomeever is available at the time. We figure between this blog, the ‘digest’ installments, and the full show we should be able to keep folks relatively up-to-date on all the latest happenings without falling too terribly far behind on the information being released by Bioware. It makes sense to do things this way, especially since we need to dig into the planets and the game engine and whatever else comes out along the way. So instead of punishing you (and ourselves) with a massive three hour long program every couple of weeks, we can dish it out to you in easy, bite sized chunks. That way everyone is happy. We stay in contact with you, and you get to keep up on all the latest and greatest. Aren’t we just the most thoughtful people ever? Stay tuned.
