Kickstarter Korner- Gamer Nation Con 3

Welcome to the Kickstarter Korner! In this periodic segment we’ll highlight Kickstarter projects of interest to gamers.

*Disclaimer* First, in case it’s not clear, the people behind Gamer Nation Con also own this blog.

What is this project?

Gamer Nation Con 3 is the third annual gaming convention held in Plano, Texas. This project aims to provide additional funding for the con and allow people to buy advanced tickets for the convention, which will be held March 31-April 3. The big news for this convention is the extension from three days to now Four Days of Gaming Goodness (4DoGG).

What do I get?

There are lots of different reward options available in this project. The most obvious would be tickets to GNCon 3 in 2016.

But if you can’t go to the Con itself there is still things of interest for you. First, you can gain access to a vault of gaming goodies. New modules created by the talented and experienced people from d20 Radio. Second, there are some slots available for you to get in on some Skype games run by the masterful GM Chris.

Will it fund?

Already has and passed the first stretch goal.

Stretch Goals?

Four announced levels. The first one has already funded which include an additional module added to the vault. The second one will add a new special guest to the convention, Maps of Mastery legendary Cartographer Christopher West. This is in addition to the headliner, Rodney Thompson.

Why should I back it?

GNCon is my personal favorite convention experience because it’s all about the games and the people. It’s a few wonderful days of gamers from all over the world (there are people from three continents flying in) coming together to play all of the games.  Yet it’s a small convention so you don’t feel like you’re getting lost in a huge crowd.

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I’m not one to talk to strangers in most cases but here I’ve never felt uncomfortable just walking up and joining a table of people looking for one more person to get in a game.

As an added bonus you’ll have a chance to meet several of the writing staff from this blog. I and many of others will be in attendance.
