Champion’s Spotlight #3 – Celeste

This week we’re going to take a look at the second of the “Core 12” Champions – Celeste, a cleric of Selune. She is one of the original characters created by Code Name Entertainment for Idle Champions. She was granted power from the goddess to save her life against a horde of undead that were clawing at her door. Since then, she has attempted to gather like-minded heroes to fight the enemies of her goddess.

Celeste is another dual role champion with both Support and Healing roles. She empowers allies next to her, increasing their damage and heals allies in the row in front of her. As she increases in power she increases both of these abilities, making her very solid early choice within her slot. As a 5e NPC, she was pretty straightforward to create. Her support ability in the game is called “crusader’s mantle” which is a spell available to paladins that does a very similar thing to her ability in game. So I decided to give it to her as a spell-like ability with some twists as it’s her main schtick. With some good recharge rolls, she can keep it up through most of an encounter. Her Chosen of Selune ability also gives her healing spells more punch. All of this combined makes her a potent ally for the PCs if they can win her over.
