Lock S-Foils in Attack Position

Last week we got the Imperial Raider and this week we’re getting Wave VII (and next week we might get some ships from Episode VII) so to say this an exciting time for X-wing would be an understatement. However, since I haven’t actually got my Wave VII ships yet I don’t really want to speculate on ships I haven’t played with yet. So instead I’m just toying with a relatively straight forward upgrade and combining it with the TIE Advanced upgrades from the Raider.

Juno Eclipse is an absolute beast to pin down. The ability to change her speed to maneuvers that aren’t even on her dial gives her unprecedented options. The only maneuvers she can’t do are S-loops and speed 1-2 K-turns. Combining this with Push, Advanced Sensors and the Mk II TIE engine upgrade really lets her shine. She can take two actions before she moves and then has 10 potential directions to go that are green to clear that stress away.

So on one side you have Juno being slippery and on the other you have a force of three Advanceds, two with Accuracy Correctors so they are going to be doing consistent damage. Combined with their three agility and five hitpoints they will not be something you can ignore. Lieutenant Colzet adds some more threat to the trio with his ability to flip a damage card over every round thanks to FCS.

Just joust with the low three and force your opponent to leave Juno behind them. She’ll make them regret it.

Variations

The best variation here would be to switch Colzet’s Fire Control System for either an Accuracy Corrector or an Advanced Targeting Computer, while dropping someone’s TIE Mk II. Then he can add a crit to all his attacks and also flip a card face up. I didn’t go that route as I felt the consistency of FCS was preferable given his lowly PS3 status. You generally treat him the same as the Tempest Squads, just taking a TL when appropriate for some bonus.

You could also trade up Juno’s Advanced Senors for Advanced Targeting Computer. With PTL she’ll be able to make good use of it. Trading all of the TIE Mk II’s for an Engine upgrade on her is also an option.

  1. Thanks for posting these Wayne, they’ve been helping me out quiet a bit for squadron ideas. I’m actually fielding the Interceptor Aces squadron you had on here for a tourny Sunday because of the success I’ve had with it. Though I might look into getting Juno in if the dial and action bar can keep up with the interceptors. It’s been awhile since I touched the Advance and I picked up the Raider set Tuesday.
