A (?) fast question(s)…. I seem to remember a Feat or Talent that allows you to gain Force Points back. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out what it was…
Also … How do you get Force Points back? Just at the next level, or is there something else?
Thanks. *beer*

The main method of "regaining" Force Points outisde of leveling up is the Force Technique called Force Point Mastery, which allows the character to regain one spent Force Point per encounter, and per the errata could only be taken once.
There's a number of talents that allow to you gain a temporary Force Point under certain circumstances, namely Fringe Savant (Scout, nat 20 on any skill check), Forceful Warrior (Jedi, nat 20 on an attack roll), and Force Flow (Alter, nat 1 on any UtF check or attack roll).
There is also the Redemption Destiny, which gives you a bonus Force Point every time you take a step closer to fulfilling your Destiny, but also removes a Force Point every time you move away from that Destiny.
But generally speaking, the only time you "refresh" your Force Points is when you level up, although technically it's not that you're Force Points are regained but more that you're wiping the slate clean of any Force Points you might still have and are gaining an entirely new set of Force Points.

You can't really get FP's back. You get a fresh new set of FP's when you level up. How often do you level up?
Is your character Force Sensitive? If yes, the Force Boon feat will give you +3 FP's when you level up.

Don't forget the optional rule in JATM of getting daily Force Points, albeit only 1 or 2 per day.

You can also spend a Destiny Point to immediately gain 3 Force Points per the DP section.

Page 113 of the SECR states that spending a DP is not an action and that you can gain 3 Force Points as one of the avaliable options.

Are these good talents to pick up? My first impression is that with Force Flow you could get a FP every 20 rolls, as most of your rolls should be UtF or attacks... this might probably mean about 1 FP per combat... seems a pretty good talent imho but never tried... any opinions from the Forum Oracles?

They're okay but not amazing, mostly because the FPs you gain from them are temporary, lasting only until the end of the encounter, and because you can't really control when they go off. Force Flow is my favorite of those three, since it means you get a little benefit when your die roll turns to suck. Forceful Warrior is my least favorite, because in my mind, rolling a 20 on an attack means a crit, and a crit means you're likely to make a kill, and making a kill can mean the end of combat. It would really stink to get a battle-ending crit, gain a force point, and then it immediately disappears because you just ended the encounter. Anyway... If you're the sort of player who likes Wild Magic and other "not really in my control" randomness, maybe that's your bag. For me, not so much. I much prefer effects that let me choose when to trigger them. I'm a big fan of Force Harmony, a Control talent from JATM that lets you, once per encounter, use a force talent that costs an FP without spending the FP. Note that this isn't a free FP that you can use to boost a skill or attack. It's for turning on a force talent, like DR 10 or Channel Energy. I'm normally leery of those talents, especially at low levels, where you have a pretty hard limit on how many times per level you can use them, so Harmony is great for that. It also combos nicely with some of the non-jedi force tradition talents, like Soft to Solid* or Cloak of Shadow**. There's also the Guardian Spirit talent (same book), which is likewise available to any force sensitive character. Among other benefits (and access to the rest of its talent tree), it gives you an extra FP per day that you can only use to enhance a force power, talent, or secret. If you get into the Force Adept PRC, you can pick up Channel Vitality (same book, again) that lets you take a condition track hit to gain a free force point that lasts for just this turn. It's of limited benefit, but great for a squishy force wizard who likes to "cast from hit points" to enhance his force powers. * Matukai (JATM) talent - Gain DR 10 for one round as a reaction to getting hit; weaker than the Control DR 10 talent, since it doesn't last, but you don't spend your standard action turning it on, so... ** Disciple of Shadow (LECG) talent - until the end of the encounter, you gain concealment when you move at least 3 squares on your turn.

It very much depends. Fringe Savant is good for someone that makes a lot of skill checks during an encounter. Like a Jedi making Use the Force checks. Force Warrior, usually not so much unless you're facing down lots of bad guys, thus increasing the odds of rolling a nat 20 and having opponents left in the fight for that temporary Force Point to mean something. Force Flow is a bit of a mixed bag. Yes, you only get the FP when you roll a nat 1, but at the same time if you've got a really high skill check modifier, that bonus FP might be just enough to push your result from a failure to a minimum degree of success. Also, there's a feat in Unknown Regions (Insightful Attack?) that lets you spend a FP upon rolling a nat 1 with an attack roll, enabling you to re-roll the attack and gain a bonus equal to the FP result. Combine this feat with Force Flow, and you've got a ready made supply of FPs for when you botch the attack roll Force Harmony is an option, but only for Force-Sensitive talents that require a FP to activate, which not every Force-user is going to have.

But otherwise it works like Dono said: roll, spend a FP, roll again, keep whichever roll you like better & apply the FP as a bonus to the attack as normal. So, yeah. The extra FP from Force Flow could turn those ugly critical misses into better rolls! If you've got, say, a prototype weapon or an unstable lightsaber crystal, this combo is even more worthwhile for you

Small point of order, the feat is Instinctive Attack. Just so you don't drive yourself crazy looking for a feat that doesn't exist.
