What is up, GamerNation?? We ARE BACK from a long-overdue break - and boy do we have a show for you! We walk the thin circuit of a line between droids and the Force tonight in a lengthy discussion of the Iron Knights! Add in some provocative listener questions, and a well done Fragments from the Rim on Ataru... and it's quite a show! Also, we (finally) announce the winners to the Aristeia: Revolutionary Right contest, and wax a bit in post-show about Edition Wars. So grab your vocabulators and your haughty sense of Jedi morals, younglings, for THIS... Episode 155 of YOUR Order 66 Podcast!
Peace, Love, and Good Gaming!

Wasn't feeling up to attending the live chat, but I'm eager to hear Phil's thoughts on Ataru as well as the post-show talk on Edition Wars.

...d'oh! I just realized I never added the Inertia Force power to the list of "good Ataru Master" character choices...
Add that to my recommendations, Gamer Nation!

Hey! I'm on the podcast twice!
The rules that I usually retract are mistakes like being nice to a new player (while being a new GM myself) and letting the labor droid be large size because large constructs (big DnD player) are a favored character choice of this player...He's level 16 now...
I find that miscalls happen to be balance issues so far in my games, other than not knowing how many damage dice to use with a Force Power or something.

Hehe, thanks for responding to my unconventional question! I'm not sure whether to be kind of embarrassed or take it as a note of personal pride that it was the "oddest question ever." Maybe both? Gonna go with both. For the record, my username is pronounced "lease," like the rental agreement. I'll send in a bumper soon, anyway!

Dave, if you're looking for a replacement to the Geek Line, I'd recommend taking a look at Google Voice. I set up a number for my show anywhere I wanted in the US and it even has the ability to look for an available number based on letters. So the Geek Line can still be around, or even a reborn Lusa Line.

I just listened to (most of) the 'cast. I want to congratulate Dragonmann and Rikoshi for winning the writing contest. I got an interesting image when the DMs mentioned the Force Repair talent. The image of the Vital Transfer energy re-routing circuits and wires spontaneously reconnecting.

into the concept of Jedi Shard's and other non-organic force-users. it takes the monopoly away from vitalism, "organicism = The Force", and creates some cool philosophical questions of living vs. non-living, etc... things that Blade Runner, and in some ways, Frankenstein tackles.
as much as fans of the saga stick to Ben Kenobi's description of the Force in episode IV ("[The Force is the] energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us. It penetrates us. It binds us all together.") as some rigid doctrine, i'd rather see it take weird turns and explained differently from other users/sages (which happens in some cases but not many that take it into radical places)...
as for game rules: is it busted to have a HRD/Jedi/Force-User? maybe. but every game can be balanced out with GM fiat to a degree. glad this episode came up cause for the past couple months ive been working on a Blade Runner type mini-module for our group where the players would find out they were jedi/force-using HRD's, how they would deal with it, how the Jedi order would deal with their own dogmatism, etc...
