Having not seen his family in over 21 years, Jedi Master Tir-Jin Meteos has been called to return to Alderaan, the world of his birth, under somewhat mysterious pretenses. An eccentric archaeologist has requested the aid of House Organa and its Republic allies in keeping a recent discovery out of the hands of his rival in House Rist.
What is this find? Why are so many resources being devoted to securing it? Will Master Tir-Jin's curiosity about the fate of the family he hardly knew get the better of him?
Time: 8 p.m. CST (GMT-6), Friday February 24. Feel free to arrive early. Place: Republic players should meet just outside the Alderaan spaceport. Imperials are welcome to join in as well, but you will have to catch up to us beyond the city limits. Details: This is an experimental "Story Casual" event, somewhere between the entirely social Cantina nights and the heavier story events planned for the future. There will be an ongoing plot of sorts going on, but we will also have plenty of time to enjoy the scenery of Alderaan and interact casually with it as a backdrop.
The idea is that we're on an "expedition" of sorts, where travel time will be abstracted and we will "make camp" to hang out at certain spots.
This is all somewhat experimental, so I expect to find things that work and things that don't for future events.
Come prepared... with a reason to be joining (or perhaps stalking) the expedition for the artifact, whatever that may be. Also be prepared to "move along" at certain points in the evening (as we're representing a several-day journey in one night of play.)
A ship is required for this event. A speeder is recommended. The faster the better, but we'll be sure to wait up for those of you still riding 90% speed mobile bombs.
Hope to see you there!

If I am able to be on, I will be there.
Also sending you a pm about what role I may play and a future story I had an idea for.

Should one assume that you actually mean Feb 24, since that's the next Friday, or do you mean today, Sunday Feb 19?

About 24 hours to go! This is going to be a fun event, so I'm hoping for a good turnout!
Republic: Remember to meet outside Pallista Spaceport.
Imperials who want to participate in the "ambush," gather at coordinates -542, 234 (or that general area.)

While my RP character is my Jedi Sage, I could play my Sith if you have a shortfall of Imperials (or a surplus of Jedi, for that matter). I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay (Friday night is the quest night for Heroes of the Expanse), but I want to at least put in an appearance at the event.

I wouldn't say we "need" a certain amount of one side or the other to make this work, so just play whichever character you like better.

To get us in the rp mood!
The rhythmic beeping noise awoke the form wrapped in blankets from its slumber. Standing, Jedi Master Torun walked to the corner of the small shelter that almost protected him from the freezing cold of Ilum, but not quite. Removing the blankets he quickly pulled on his cloak but left the hood down, and pressed a button to display the incoming holotransmission.
The blue form of the Jedi Grandmaster appeared in front of him, and he bowed his head in a formal gesture.
"Master Shan, to what do I owe this honor?" he said, keeping his eyes up to look at the holoimage of the female Jedi.
"I'm afraid I have just had the feeling about something... through the force. I am not sure what is going on, but I sense that your presence may be needed on Alderaan."
Torun nodded at these words, Alderaan was a paradise compared to the frozen wastes of Ilum. Master Shan continued:
"You know of Tir-jin, he travels home to Alderaan. It would seem that it is a legitimate request, but I feel there is something in this situation which doesn't seem quite right. I ask that you make haste to Alderaan immediately."
"I am not sure if I can make it on time to meet him as he arrives, but I will travel with my companion... padawan immediately." Torun replied.
"Thank you, watch out for Tir-jin and yourself, and may the force be with you. I will be contacting others to go assist as well, be on the look out for them." The transmission cut off and across the tiny hut a second form stirred.
"Honey... why was a Grandmaster calling you in the middle of the night?" the female voice called out.
"I am not sure," Torun replied, "but we must leave quickly for the starport to catch a shuttle into orbit. I fear there may be danger for one of our friends."

Revan_the_2nd told me about the cool character-quick-change--he thought it was great. I'm hoping he'll tell me more.
(I wish I had time right now to start SWTOR--but that is going to be at least a month away, as most of March is going to be very busy for me.)

That was a lot of fun, thanks for the great job organizing everything. Everyone did a wonderful job in their NPC roles.
I have to admit that I wasn't exactly sure what I was supposed to do for a lot of the end stuff. It was a ton of fun though. I hope my schedule lets me participate in these regularly.
