This is the culmination of the playstyle and opinions I've developed playing a Guardian Tank to 50 and participating in endgame. I have done very little outside research on my class, so this is largely based on my own experimenting and observations, with some minor exceptions (such as my brothers in arms who turned me on to the awesomeness that is Guardian Leap.)

The Stats and Abilities sections are complete as of this posting. Still to come are the Talents and Strategy sections. This document will automatically update when I make changes. I hope this helps out my fellow Guardians, and I welcome any feedback you guys might be able to give me!

You need some citations on the Defense bug. There's not a lot of info on it out there, and if it didn't exist, Defense Rating would easily be top priority over Shield and Absorption.

You should also mention that Force/Tech attacks can't be Shielded, so against enemies that use those exclusively, those stats are wasted.

The only sources I have, technically, are personal experience and talking to other players. If you're unsure of whether or not it exists, I could try to record some gameplay and show you, because it happens to me almost nightly at least once (even with my mediocre 18% Defense chance.)


Good point. I think I might just quote and cite Gisben's post about that in the guide, since I actually was not aware of that until he pointed it out.
