After watching Nysha respec and start destroying the world, I've begun to consider respecing, and did so today to a hybrid 0/13/28 build which I am testing in pvp now. It's a new playstyle, but early looks seem to indicate that it is just deadly.

Quick edit:

Yeah, we both did over 300k damage, 65k healing, total of 120 kills to 5 deaths between two of us in Voidstar. I'm guessing this spec will quickly rise in popularity, as it also works better in ops I'm guessing because the damage is much more sustained and less burst.

I wonder how well my 7/18/16 build will stack up compared to the 0/13/28 build once I hit level 50. Periodic damage looks to be significantly worse, but raw AoE damage and crit range should be better.

Out of curiosity, what are the most important elements of the 0/13/28 build?

Actually using Force Suppression and Presence of Mind are rather key in increasing dps in this build, as they allow for lots of TK Wave bombs to proc via TK throw.

Ok so this build is definitely peeking my interest. However, I dont play PvP as much.

Im looking at this as you are either DPS (0/13/28) or Heals (31/7/3) and trying to decide between the two. Would you think thats a good assumption?

Im thinking we could use more on the heal side for those not particularly PvP oriented. It's a tough choice though.

I won't say that the specs are the best, but they are pretty darn good. I am testing other builds, so you should also keep an open mind.

Yeah Im keeping an open mind. I think I may be crossing the line though. Here's my crazy theory (purely PvP and fairly useless elsewhere): 11/13/17 Sage

So the new patch gives healers credit for heal-ee's kills right. This makes it a pretty good idea to have Rejuvenate, so you can drop it on anyone you run by. The HoT should potentially climb your kill streak. Now you want to be able to do damage as well since kills isnt everything, so the potential split across the other two trees.

Downside is Im not sure how important the last 3 tiers of madness would be. I know this would technically be a Heal/DPS spec and thats fairly crazy.

What does everyone think?

I think the build is usable, and considered something similar before settling on 7/18/16. If you have both Presence of Mind and Telekinetic Wave, you dish out respectable AoE damage (especially with the 10% damage bonus in the healing tree). The issue is single-target damage, which takes a significant hit versus a dedicated Balance build.

My input.

I have it down to a 0/10/31 or 2/8/31 build for Balance that I will use in the coming patch. As it stands the first one gives a slight reduction to damage, but makes the Sage much more able to survive anything from pvp to tough fights in operations. The question is whether 20% more damage taken by force armor is better than 2% increase to crits with the force. I would say in pvp the 20% more damage taken by force armor really is more important, so I will do 0/10/31.

As it stands, I tested out against solo bosses and pvp group fights and I found that balance tends to do better in either case than a hybrid, tk, or 3 tree build. First of all with balance, you can DoT so many people if you use your tab key well enough and know your rotation that the kill credit thing is never an issue. Second, the surviving thing really helped up the DPS for either the TK or Hybrid builds, and the key to lots of damage is also being alive.

The new changes that will come will actually enhance Balance from where it stands now.

Yet before the changes I have had more very high dps games with Balance than Telekinetics. I have had one game with Telekinetics that had the highest DPS, but it really is more of an all or nothing game with Telekinetics depending on how smart (or stupid) your opponents are.

One game I fought all healers in Voidstar and had a dedicated healer keeping me alive. I racked up 777,000 damage that game because everyone stood together, but it really counted on free tk wave blasts proc'ing and force in balance. However, most games I just hit 300k, and have only done 400k+ twice.

In less games of pvp with the Balance spec, I have racked up multiple games in a night where I hit 400 or 500k. So while I don't have the ability to go to near 800k, I do have the ability to do more damage on average. The nice thing about damage is you can fire everything off you need to, and then go running on to the next target. It gives you a lot more mobility, and gives you the shot at really laying a lot of damage.

With Telekinetics I usually do between 7-8 medals. With Balance I do about 9-11 medals depending. I know, I don't sound very open, but I was pure TK in the beginning, but as I have experimented and looked around, I've come to the way of balance. Just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, I had my friend also respec to my build, the both of us were doing about 370k damage each on average in the games we ran. It was pretty vicious having two full balance sages, especially with them sticking together. TK sages usually have a tough time one-on-one unless they burn their relics for alacrity bonus, Balance sages worry less about alacrity, and more about managing the DoT's at the right times.

I look at it this way:

Telekinetics: Go Big or Get Killed
Balance: DoT, run around, DoT, run around, everything else is dead, laugh.
3 Tree build: Survive pretty well, run around, but not as much damage
Hybrid: before 1.2 the coolest thing around, after 1.2 the build that will have lots of trouble cranking out dps.
