I searched but couldn't find an answer. Do we know how the guild is handling alt characters what with the 500 character limit? I'd probably want all 4 of my republic characters in, but I know that's probably not possible. It was mentioned on the holocron but I never heard an official decision.

We've discussed a few different models for this in the Officers boards, but as far as I know we never actually settled on anything. It did seem pretty unanimous that we guarantee at least two characters per guild member, though, which is part of the reason the cap was set at 200 and not 500.

There had been proposals to make some sort of "Elite" guild for those toons that were level 50. The concept was to allow room if we got close to the member cap. No idea if that only applied to folks that were wanting to bring in a 3rd toon or to all toons that hit 50. The Ally system will allow for those toons that are in the Elite guild to be apart of the fun with the main guild.

Ooo, ooo, is this decision time? Already?
Erm.. 2 toons per guildy to start. Possibly more depending on how things go once the guild is up and running. It is, I suppose, entirely possible that not everyone will show up who has signed up so we'll make more serious determinations from there.
Being that we are allied with two other guilds which have smaller memberships, it may be worth thinking about having toons with them as well assuming we all get on the same servers. That decision will be up to those guild leaders to say yea or nay about.
I am, as always, open to discussion about other options.

its worth considering you can only have republic toons in the order of 66, so at most your only looking at 4 max anyway so 2 sounds pretty reasonable.
plus your likely to roll more empire toons in other guilds like the Exiled Lords.
I don't think this is acutally going to be an issue.
I mean if you ever start getting close to the level cap just pull up the list of people in guild by last login date and
Step 1: Give a weeks warning
no reply Step 2: Boot from guild
Step 3: Player X:"hey why did you boot my char" Fiddleback:"we need space you hadn't logged him in 4 months" Player X:"oh... well I'm gonna play him now, can I swap him with another char I have in the guild ?" Fiddleback:"Sure thing dude no problem, catch you in-game"
And honestly If you know the guild is near max chars and you know your not going to play one of your toons for a while, just let a guild captain know what your doing and kick yourself out, I have no doubt they'll be more than happy to find space when you want to bring him back in.
In a nut shell be considerate of your fellow guildies and such issues won't arise nor will rules about max no of characters ever need to be implemented.

It'll be an issue for me. I've got Dunne the JC, Vyktor the JK, and Fil the Trooper waiting to come to life.

I would think that 1 would be fine for a while but I can already see we have a few altiholic members here.  Having 4 alts per member seems a bit much much if we really do have 200 people signed up for our guild at launch. So seems like 2 for now would be a good fit. I could see us go up to 3 later unless we keep expanding after launch.

Then if we start to really creep up to 400 and 450+, we can start saying "Okay folks, everyone with more than 2 alts has to have alt #3 (and #4) find a new home". I MIGHT put Vyktor into the Lords of the Expanse. Change his backstory a bit. Hmmm. (Actually, that makes a lot more sense, based on the concept he's based on...)

Apparently his backstory change includes independently renaming the guilds in question.

I know I will have one toon in the guild...most likely a range class....but will have my main in The Exhiled Lords.

At this point I have two characters I plan to start in short order with the guild. My primary Jedi Knight (Mark maybe, or Duncan) and my Trooper with no name yet. I also plan to run a Smuggler, but he or she will be in the Heroes of the Expanse (if they will have me.)
The only other chars right now will be Empire side. (I look forward to Keanu the Bounty Hunter returning.)

Perhaps this was discussed somewhere but didn't they make it so the limit is 500 accounts not 500 players? So you can have any number of characters from a person but it only counts as 1 towards the cap?
I seem to recall hearing that on a podcast tho but the specific one evades my memory.
