Great Episode guys. Looking forward to hearing more from your new crew members/guests.
I hope you guys are getting some percentage of the sales for The Harrowing and Harrow Deck, cause this episode really makes it hard to resist getting them. I'm a graphic designer and just hearing you guys talk it up so much on the design and layout/production side makes me want to get it for that alone. I take notice of those things and have noted that on an overall scale Paizo has been putting out an excellent looking product. I like the details put into the Jade Regent AP books, its smart and hints at flavor with out pinpointing a specific region/culture. Its truthiness at its best. I like to joke that a graphic designers job is to make things pretty, but its really true, Im glad Paizo has let the GDs do exactly that. but on a serious note you should see if you can track # of sales from Paizo on the module deck until the next episode to see how big a bump they get from EP 16.

Speaking of that the Terra Clips, World Works guy was awesome. You can tell from his products that he is a GD. Obsessive down to the tiniest detail, its really impressive. Even the videos are really well done/shot. I think its the lighting on them, its near perfect.

Character Workshop was pretty cool. Two distinctly different classes meshed together for a great effect and lots of opportunities. I thought the Meteor hammer was getting worked in there? Or was it? Maybe I missed that.

Anyway, good work!

I am working on the meteor hammer for the next build. There are few guarantees, though. I have a specific set of things I want the upcoming character to do and I will scrap him if he doesn't meet my expectations.

Hello,

In the podcast, an enchantment that lets you add dex mod to damage was mentioned, what was that?

Thanks!

Wow... I've been checking daily and somehow missed this being posted!

Thanks guys - I'm sure it's been a ... harrowing?... couple months since Gen Con. Your efforts are much appreciated.

It is the new "Agile" weapon property that appears in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide.

Research was suggesting that you could enchant an amulet with the weapon property so that it would apply to your unarmed attacks. I am not sure that you can do so and I have not turned my mind to the issue.

But there is ZERO doubt that it what Research is referring to.

Agile only restricts application to melee weapons, which the Amulet of Mighty Fists does specifically call out as being an exception relating to unarmed strikes.

You can weapon finesse unarmed strikes - they're counted as light weapons. You'll need to take weapon finesse, it's not in the build. However, you can take it in place of any of the ninja talents or any of the feats, so customize the build to your liking.

I could see a real jackass GM getting a bit argumentative over this one - but I would say this is well within the purpose of the amulet of mighty fists - There's a reason it costs bonus^2*5000 instead of bonus^2*2000.

I think the major reason for the cost is that it enchants all of your natural weapons, not just one. If you have two swords you have to enchant both, but if you have a claw/claw/bite routine the amulet gives bonuses to all. Most creatures have a neck, so almost everyone can use it.

You can definitely stick weapon properties in an Amulet (maxing out at a total bonus equivalent of +5, which is another difference from a weapon, and for the same reason as the increased cost). Since almost all natural attacks are melee attacks, this would apply to them - I suppose the weapon property would not apply to a manticore's spine attacks, although it would to its claws. The rule (melee weapons only) is probably there to reduce the temptation to buy the property on the weapon instead of getting the Deadly Aim feat.

An other great podcast guys!

I listened to the store interview three times. Very unique and really interesting!

Hey, and just a quick final statement. I really appreciated you guys bouncing ideas around with the counters. I thought it was really impressive when you noted that you may not be the target for the "pretty cardboard" pieces but still took the time to talk about it and work out the advantages. Nice job.

Hey Research quick question for you mate

Ninja/Witch is certainly a cool build, did you consider Magus instead of Witch ? If you did was there a reason you decided not to go with it , apart from flavour ?

The Hexcrafter Archtype for Magus gives him access to a Witch Hex at first level. and opens up the possibility of an interesting 1, 2 combo with the Improved Unarmed Strike

In my left hand I hold a Hex
In my right hand I hold a Spell

which would you like first

the Hexcrafter adds curse descriptor spells to their list so you can be throwing double debuffs (Hex+Spell Curse) with sneaks coupled with your Ninja tricks. (can even pickup familiar through magus arcana)

cooler still once the right hook Hex hits you've already lowered their save DC to make the followup left hook spell more likely to land on the same turn, leaving them in even worse shape.

No arcane failure in light armor is handy for the few spells you can cast
Arcane pool is nice for the +1 enchantment at 1st level help make up for those two 0+ BAB levels

Thoughts ?
