Likewise.

Would hate to see the flagship podcast of the D20 Radio Network wind up podfading ;)

Dono, don't say such things--don't even think them!
I am ready for another O66 'cast too!

BTW, I merged Helamon's more general thread on upcoming O66 since Chris brought up the FFG interview there. Plus, I just can't resist trying to organize chaos. ;)

Particularly after all the advice they gave at the GenCon panel!

Any day now...

Oh and because "Being Human" is between series at the moment? I reckon Witner would have had some more gaming with his friends he'd love to share.

I can't wait for another Sam show. I end up laughing so often my family thinks I'm crazy.

Which, with some of the funny things that Sam says and how hard I laugh at them, they may be right.

I listened to this episode again today, and the desire to try a podcast is growing in me like a nerdy parasite.
GMC... What do your pre-recording show notes tend to look like? Having an example of the breakdown of how you see the show from a notes perspective might help in the planning stages of a new project.

I can't believe I'm considering this, but there needs to be a Call of Cthulhu RPG cast, and since Yog Radio stopped producing, someone needs to step up to the plate.
Time to roll San...

Good on ya!

Notes are simple affairs.

1. Announcements. (Scour the interwebs/d20Radio network for new shows, news, etc.) Relate them to the masses!
2. Questions! (Check my email/voice mail/PMs/forum posts.) Answer 'em!
3. Side Bit #1. (Watto's/Suspending the Rules/WGGgB/WGGgG) Pick a topic devised by a listener and expound on it!
4. Side Bit #2. (Optional. Insert in the middle of the meat, or before Questions. At our lovely stage of the game, our wonderful listeners provide this bit; Fragments/Fat Raconteur/Lando's.)
5. The Meat. (Devise the main topic and write it up!) Then share. Like a tasty pie.

That's it, in a nutshell. That right there turns into 12 pages of show notes every two weeks. :D

Honestly, man... You'll refine your process over time. The BEST thing to do is to listen to lots of good shows and follow their formula. Try listening to an episode - but don't focus on the content at all (hard to do...). Instead, pull out a notepad, and note when they switch to segments, and what the general segment is about. You should be able to develop a unique show style.

Thanks Chris. That's about what I thought, but I wanted to be sure I had the idea right. Starting with your show as an organizational model and then seeing what specific bits make sense for the subject to fit into those categories.
I talked to the wife about the idea this morning, and she says go for it. She even offered to help write for it, which is massive. For a non-gamer, she's pretty awesome. :D

I'll look at getting a mic in a few weeks and use all free software solutions as a start point. I'll talk to Dave about joining the network after having the minimum 5 shows in the can.

Anyone interested in Call of Cthulhu want to join in this madness? I'll need a partner for the show, one guy talking about an RPG is nearly un-listenable.
