“There is another possibility however rare. He could be possessed by another’s spirit. If that is the case we need to watch him closely. It’s very uncommon for any other than sith spirits to possess the living.”

"I had considered that. Whatever's in his head seems to be interested in helping us, but that could be a deception."

JR cracks the door and pokes his head in.

"Everything ok in here?"

After glaring at Pendlewheeze for a moment, his eyes shift to SGT Perrian, then LT Thoror, and finally rest on the Miraluka Jedi.

"C'mon, were burnin' daylight."

Mumbling something else under his breath, he quickly pulls back, returning to the other side of the door.

Darian calmly approaches the young Jedi, extending a hand in friend ship.

"I know you are scared, it's ok we are in a very dangerous situation. You don't need to put yourself in harm's way if that's the way you feel, but we both know Jedi are trained from birth to use their powers to help those less fortunate."

He continues: "You must realize that you either have some form of psychosis or perhaps worse. If you truly have no idea that something is happening, then it's time someone inform you. The force has guided us to each other, and I think that through our Jedi meditation training we can find the answer. Now I need you to understand that I would never do anything to hurt you or anyone else in our order for that matter, but for you to truly be trusted we must find out what is going on. Well, Pendlewheeze what say you are you willing to give it a shot."

Ignoring the outlaw's assertiveness, he adds: "We need all the help we can get but if we get in to big a hurry none of us will survive and then we help no one, so we really need to figure out if your with us or not."

Pendlewheeze, still groggy from his collapse, looks to his fellow Jedi, "I-I don't know what's happening. Why am I sitting at this table, what did you do to me? Why is everyone staring at me? What's wrong?"

Pendlewheeze gasps and tries to collect himself, but it has no apparent effect. He is clearly becoming more panicky, "Please, I don't want to hurt anyone. I won't tell anyone about you. Just don't hurt me. Please... you have to believe me, I don't know what's going on. I don't know why I was sent here. Please, this is all Master Sullban's fault. He told me to come here. Please. Don't kill me. Do whatever you want to me just, please, don't hurt me."

Pendlewheeze turns an anguished face to each of you standing around him, his eyes plead with each of you for some assurance that everything will be okay and that you will not be the source of more pain. Finally they rest on Derian, then close.

"Do what you must," he says softly.

A young lady gets up from where she was laying in the corner, tossing aside the blanket that served both as warmth and a rug under which to hide from the nightmare that had fallen upon their planet. Brushing her dark hair behind her ear, she pulls on a jacket showing her to be a nurse in the Republic military, the name tag identifying her as Treena Pro'Tia. She picks up her medical bag that had been serving as a pillow and walks towards the commotion, yawning and trying to get the stiffness out of her neck.

"Guess trying to sleep is useless," she grumbles and rolls her eyes at no one in particular, although deep inside she knows it was the thoughts of what became of those they had been forced to leave behind at the base hospital as the Sith attacked that kept her awake. Making her way past the others she sits down next to Pendlewheeze.

Noticing her own hands shaking, she quickly forms a fist and looks up at the Lt. "Want me to check him out? I worked in the ER not the funny farm but I think I can help. Although I'm running a little low on sedatives," she says as she digs around in her bag.

He shakes his head.

"Keep those for a rainy day, Pro'Tia. I don't know more than the next grunt about Jedi mysticism, but I don't think we're dealing with a medical issue here. Let his fellow knight tend to him for now. In the mean time, this burn isn't healing as fast as I hoped, and we're too low on kolto for me to waste any more on myself." He rotates the burned shoulder and cringes. "Got anything left in there that could take the edge off for a few more hours? We need to quit talking and start moving."

Smiling warmly, Derian says in a calm almost monotone voice, "It's ok Pendle, focus on my voice"

Derian begins to walk Pendle through a series Jedi meditation rituals. Each one putting both Knights deeper into a slumber like state, the last of which places Pendle within a subconscious cocoon away from the confrontation about to take place. When the rituals end the two Jedi each appear calm and serene.

Deep in the mind of the young Jedi, Derian's voice echoes oddly:

"Spirit it is Derian Marr Revanchist Jedi Knight, In the name of the Order of 66 I demand to know who you are and why are you here"

She looks at his shoulder and winces. "You didn't miss it, whatever it was."

Reaching into her bag, Treena pulls out a strange blue bottle and sprays a fine mist over the area, giving a bizarre mix of cooling and numbing to your shoulder.

"Just let that air for a few minutes so it can set. I'll check it tomorrow," she says, inspecting her work.

After taking a couple of longer, slower pulls from his flask, JR Devol finds a comfortable spot and kicks back. Another moment later he lifts his hat slightly and tips it forward, just enough to be down over his eyes.

"I'll be waitin' over here 'till y'all are ready."

"Has anyone seen how the rest of the city is holding up?" Treena asks, looking around. "I ... don't like to go out there much, it's depressing."

"It's not in good shape," Thoror frowns. "This whole district's mostly rubble. There may be some civilians on the other side of town in what few structures are still standing, but I imagine most of them have fled by now."

An expression of concern combined with resignation flashes across Derian's face as he and Pendle regain consciousness. Then a warm smile for Pendle, "Sorry Pendle, I seem to be having a problem accessing your subconscious, but for now why don't we just leave most of the Jedi stuff for me."

Looking around the room Derian spots the nurse for the first time and a flash of insight crosses his face. "Hello" moving his head to better read her name tag which seems odd because of his lack of eyes "Treena and welcome. I'm really glad to have someone onboard with a little medical experience." Turning to Lt. Thoror "We need to talk for a moment, don't worry I'll keep it brief."

Pendlewheeze sits at the table wondering what's going to happen now.

"Hello, nurse."
