Pendlewheeze sits down on a chair and stares dejectedly at the floor.

Sgt. Perrian stops in the door to the backroom and looks back at Pendle, then motions Pendle to come over "Son... come with me... lets talk to him together... while I'm not sure of his reasoning... you are here and thus are my responsibility. Once we get the security formalities out of the way we will figure out the rest together."

Derian looks like he was going to say something then waits to see if PW follows the Sgt. before he speaks.

Interrupting the awkward silence, JR clears his throat.

"Just so we're all clear, NOBODY is responsible for me but me, and I ain't responsible for none of 'yall. And, if'ya ask me, were wastin time with all this piddlin' around."

Pendlewheeze looks up in astonishment. "Y-you really mean that? You'll talk to Master Sullban with me?"

Pendlewheeze stands up and looks Sgt. Perrian in the eyes. "That's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me." He sniffles a little and a single tear trickles down his cheek. Then he nods and heads towards the door...

((I would suggest that the following conversation and background checks, etc. occur off screen and TJ simply tell us what the results are. Anyone object?))

((works for me))

Arm still extended Sgt. Perrian puts his arm around Pendlewheeze as his arrives... "As long as you are in this unit you are family... the Lt. is your father... and I'm your mother now... I take care of my cubs... and no one better mess with them or else they will find out my bite is a tad bit worse that my bark" he winks at Pendlewheeze as they enter the back room.

Nods approvingly as the two exit the room.

"Lt. perhaps JR and I should start on that mine procuring project."

((A similar recommendation as far as off screen rolls and such, but how exactly do we do that. I mean do we pm each other and relay that to AsaTJ or does he simply tell us what’s going on and success rate. Either way I actually very cool with me I’m just curious. By the way everyone this is my first play by post and I’m having a blast.)) :D

JR begins to check and adjust his blaster holster, utility belt, and other gear.

He gives JR a nod of solidarity with maybe a hint of a smile.

"Alright then, Jedi, I'm going to let you try to get in there undetected. Don't make me regret trusting you with that. Everyone else, we split into teams and stake out the roadway, figure out how to best place the mines. If we don't hear from the infiltrators within 36 hours, we proceed with Sergeant Perrian's original plan. Any questions?"

((If you want me to resolve an action for you, describe it out of character in moderate detail and I will resolve it. Busy weekend, by the way- my apologies for not being around to move things along.))

JR jumps to attention, pops off his best imitation of a military salute to the LT., turns about face, and proceeds to yell out (in a laughable attempt at mimmicking SGT. Perrian),

"SIR THANK YOU SIR."

Back at ease, he turns and throws a friendly yet firm tap at Derian's shoulder.
Then, JR Devol's demeanor suddenly shifts from jokingly aloof to outright dead serious.

"You hear that buddy? Boss said clock's a tickin'. So time.. she's a wastin'.'"

JR then makes a straight path directly to the door as those in his way step back. Before he exits, and brandishing one last wide, shit eatin' grin, he looks back to make sure Derian is following him.

(( JR goes into 'Stealth' mode essentially, so starting now he is taking all precautions to not be noticed, hiding when necessary. He will keep this up until he and Derian secure the mines from the compound. He is looking to Derian for more details about his plan specifically, but JR does have a couple of ideas of his own. One involves a deceptive distraction/misdirection to get some of the guards out of the compound, allowing them an opportunity to sneak in during the confusion. The other is different, but just as bold. They could impersonate some workers/contractors with legitimate reasons to be there, and thus wouldn't have to be be taking their chances sneaking around the whole time once inside the compound (just when they are actually looting the ammuntions bunker for the mines).

The door that the Sgt and Pendle entered opens.

Sgt. Perrian's head appears.

"Lt. you might want to come in here and......"

looking around the room

"Any Jedi... we.... uh... have a complication"

((speak up any Jedi that come to investigate))

"Ahhh hell, what now? Is he cryin' again, cause if he.... "

The smuggler continues grumbling while he holds up to wait for Derian. By all appearances, he seems more annoyed than concerned.

(( I personally am highly concerned and worried about the SGT's situation with Pendle, definitely more so than my character, but then again I'm not nearly the jerk JR is either... ))

Thoror runs his fingers over his brow.

"Exactly what we need right now, more situations..." He makes his way briskly to the door. "What seems to be the issue now?"

As the Lt. and Derian come into the room they will see Pendlewheeze sitting before a table appearing to be recovering from some physical ailment.

"I'll admit I've seen my fair share of people lose their mind in combat.. but this is really something different.. either Pendle is crazy or he has a hitchhiker..."

The Sgt taps a a few buttons on his wrist comm and you hear the following

The Sgt attempting to make a call to Tython followed by <cracking of static>
Sgt - "Sith Spawn!"
Pendlewheeze - "I guess we will have to tell Lt. that call home isn't going to work anymore."
Sgt - "but before that why don't you and I have a chat... your a member of this merry band.. its best that we get to know each other so that we can find a place in the puzzle that best suits you..."
Sgt - "So where yah from? got family? what brought you to the jedi? what was your time like there? " holds up his hand... "Yah this is 20 questions... but you get to ask just as many questions as you want too... and I promise to answer them all... no matter what they are..."
Pendlewheeze - "I-I don't really know," he mumbles, "I'm a foundling."
Pendlewheeze - He seems very embarrassed to be discussing this. "Master Sullban said I was left at the gates of the temple as a baby. All I've ever known was the Jedi. They took me in and raised me as best they could. They trained me in the force just like any other youngling. I never asked about where I came from or who my parents were because it seemed fairly obvious they didn't want me anyway."
Pendlewheeze - "The Jedi were nice enough, in their way, I suppose. Master Sullban spent most of his time training me and raising me. He's the only father I've ever had. Of course, being a Jedi he followed the code. Although sometimes he would take me out to see the outside world and things would be pleasant and even fun, lately he's been much more strict and shouty. I don't think he really likes me very much anymore. He did seem pleased to graduate me though."
Sgt - "Son..no.... Master Sullban KNEW he was going to be forced to send you into harms way... he also knew that you were not ready for it... and like me .. I suspect he is an old soldier... neither of us find it easy to tell people how we feel... instead we do what we think we have to to make sure that person comes backs to us.... that means pushing them to their limits.. making sure they are over prepared for whatever situation they are going to encounter... "
Sgt - "We hope by being strict and yelling that you are going to learn what you need to survive. Because neither of us whats to lose our student. You look to Master Sullban as a father?... He looks to as his son... and parents will do anything... even cruel things to keep their children safe."

Pendlewheeze - "This is all very confusing to me. Look, I appreciate you taking an interest, I really do. But you lot seem completely insane to me. You're all talking about two plans when I've only heard one. You all seem to think that in order to do whichever plan it is you are doing, you need a second plan that's just as dangerous as the first one. Essentially you've made a plan to execute a plan that will allow you to execute another plan that you've planned. You expect people to line up and follow orders without really knowing what is going on. All it's going to do is get people killed. Important people. People that I value very highly. Me! I don't want to be dead! I want... I want..."
Pendlewheeze's voice but a whole different inflection - "I want you to explain to me just what you think the Sith are doing here on this tiny, piss poor moon. It's a farming moon for Force's sake. What could be here that would draw all these Sith in? It's not like they put up much of a fight initially, you wouldn't need much of a force to keep a bunch of damned farmers in line. The Sith are used to poorly equipped badly thought out resistance. They've got it so down pat it's in their field manuals. You won't present much of a challenge to them with this size force. The point you boys are missing seems to me to be that this isn't normal procedure for the Sith Empire. There HAS to be something here that they want, and the surest way to deal with them is to start by figuring out what it is and DENYING it to them. You want them off this moon because you believe in free worlds and some fancy notion that self-determination is better than Empirical rule? That's not good enough to make them go. Take away what they came for and there won't be any point in them staying. Now figure it out!"

" I'm no Jedi so I don't know if this is normal or not... I'm also not the ultimate leader of this little rebellion, either way its not my call what to do with this young man"

The Lt. listens to the recording intently, without saying a word. When it finishes, he responds.

"It's clear there's something off about him. Some kind of repressed consciousness, below the surface. And one that seems a hell of a lot more helpful than his default state. If we had time, I'd try to figure out how to trigger it. For now, I say we just try to wake him up."

He gestures toward the group.

((If anyone is actually a medic or would like to have a look at him, go ahead. Otherwise I'll just assume one of the troopers does it.))
