OK, if I posted this thread in the wrong place, somebody please move it...I mean, tell me where I should move it to.

Anyways, due to Darth Budget, it is likely that we'll only be able to start with one account with each of us having our own character. And there's 2 or 3 of us in the house who would be interested in the game &/or guild. How would this work with guild membership, if it's even doable?

I would expect that if they are even remotely following the WoW guild model, each individual character can be in whatever guild will accept them. I have 4 characters on WoW's Earthen Ring server and all are part of the same Guild. They just can't all play at the same time. Once Darth Budget allows for multiple accounts in your system, the proviso for paid character transfers should exist to export the chars to the appropriate family members.

This, with one caveat; in my experience I would NOT expect the ability to move a character from one account to another. That's a very rare thing in MMO land these days. If WoW does/allows for it, it would be the only MMO I know of that does it. STO, CoV, Champions Online, SWG; none of those allowed such a transfer.

I know games will allow characters between SERVERS, but not accounts.

You may have to bite the bullet and be willing to "Start over" a character once you slay Darth Budget.

Thanks, guys. I had forgotten about the possibility of character transfer. I believe padi transfers was possible in WoW, but it's been at least a year since we've had a WoW account & it might not be true now.

I have never seen a MMO that allowed transfers between accounts.

Every game with multi-servers has allowed between servers (except for AoC which wouldn't allow transfers from RP,PvE to PvP servers, but you could go the opposite).

WoW does allow paid transfers between accounts, provided you can prove both accounts exist within the same household. I am not sure if other games do this, and I would not count on it being available.
