My wife sent me a text today that included the fact that SWG is only 10bucks on steam for the entire game and tons of extras. She isnt home yet so im not 100% but im guessing she wants to get a couple of copies and play for a bit. I haven't been in the game since before Sony broke it quite awhile ago so I have no idea what we are getting into. but hey if it gets her to play an MMO Im all for giving it a shot. Im just curious if anybody is currently playing? I figure if there is any chance someone I know is on a specific server that would be a good place for us to start. :)

I'd advise against SWG. There's a reason it's only $10 bucks - the game is on it's way out and they're scraping for subscriptions before they pull the plug. The game is chock full of bizarre bugs that have been in for years. I'll put it this way - the current top PvP tactic is to run up and down floors in PvP zones, because it causes your character to glitch and appear on the wrong floor. The bug's been in the game for years. Not to mention the broken quests where NPCs spawn inside rocks or in the ground. All in all, it's not worth the headaches. SOE clearly doesn't care about SWG and let's these very basic bugs go on for years and years. Not to mention the fact that the game is horrifically unbalanced - some professions can do everything and some are practically useless.

Long story short, there's a reason why the most popular server only has a handful of posts per day on their message boards.

I was keen to play to fill the void before SWTOR but without the multitudes of people playing, it becomes a very big empty universe. That was what struck me the most. I reinstalled it about seven months ago and had fun for about ten minutes until I realised I was the only one in the universe. It became like a Stephen King novel where you wake up and everyone else is gone. Meeting another non SPAM bot PC in game was a big occasion because it was so rare.
