Hey Guys,
I'm building up a force using Yarkora for a Dark Times Dark Jedi/Evil Guy campaign. It's my understanding that we will be not unlike a Force Unleashed style team doing the emperor's bidding. Of the rest of the team I know there will be some kind of sneak attacking force guy, a crazy Melee/ranged/DPS Robot, a ranged Storm Trooper and I believe a Force witch of some sort, although I'm not sure of any of this since I havn't seen them making characters.

Anyway, here are my specifics thus far:
5th level 3 noble/2 jedi Yarkora
STR 10
DEX 6
CON 14
INT 12
WIS 16
CHA 18
(this counts the bonuses from 4th level and from Yarkora)

Talents:
Wealth
Noble Fencing Style
Deflect

Feats:
Weapon Prof (simple, pistols, and lightsaber)
Force Sensitivity
Skill focus (use the force)
2x Force Training
Predictive Defense

Skills:
Deception 11
Persuasion 11
Use The Force 16

Force Powers:
Force Lightning
Move Object
Mind Trick
Fear
Force Grip
Hatred
Rebuke
Memory Walk

EQ
Lightsaber Pike
Acension Gun

We have been allowed to pick a destiny, a background, and a legacy for this campaign.
I chose corruption, background of being from Botawai, and for legacy I'm not sure. I picked Saelt-Marae, Yak-Face, from Jabba's barge with the intent that he fathered me or such in his youth since he would still be alive. I couldn't think of or find another good choice for this... I gave him the destiny power to spend a destiny point to treat a deception roll as a nat 20.

So, there are the relevant stats. Among my ideas, I'm intending to build a pair of small flying droids equipped with miniturized Deck-Sweepers, and shields with the shield extender part to fly next to me, provide intimidation, and protect me since I get a -2 to dex. For the same reason I chose the lightsaber pike to keep people away from me hopefully.

My intent is to play him as a seemingly sincere almost smarmy character who pretty much starts with using his force powers to get his way. Amazingly confident in his powers, I'm probably going to have him choke out a random NPC guard just to gain some respect since he's a non-human.

My future goals include using the next free feat to Force training and fill in my suite with extra uses of the force powers that I end up using alot in the first couple sessions. I'm also really enthralled with the Sith Alchemy Tree so Sith Apprentice is on the goal list too. I think I already meet the reqs except for 7 levels so I'm not too worried.

Phew... So... Thoughts? Suggestions? I open the floor to you fine folks. And thanks in Advance.

First off, since I haven't seen you around these parts, welcome to the boards. :)

Unfortunately, you don't qualify for Dodge, since you lack the Dexterity prerequisite. However, to help with that rather wimpy Reflex Defense, turn to Galaxy at War, page 25 and read the entry for Predictive Defense. It allows you to use your Intelligence modifier rather than your Dexterity modifier to determine your Reflex Defense. That nets you a +3 gain to your Reflex at this point. Not a bad deal. The best part is that it's on the Noble's list of bonus feats. Although looking at your skill list, you may need to spend it on Skill Training to pick up Persuasion, since it too is also listed as a prerequisite for Noble Fencing Style along with being trained in Deception.

As for talents, even if you do go for Predictive Defense as your feat choice, your Reflex Defense is still the lowest of your defenses, and will most likely continue to be unless you plan on picking up some Armor Proficiencies and related talents. Keeping this in mind, might I suggest Block or Deflect as your talent choice? You really can't go wrong with them, and even with the -2 from the pike, your Use the Force check is high enough where that shouldn't hurt you too badly. When looking at the Dark Side Talent Tree, Power of the Dark Side is the must take, since most of the other talents have it as a prerequisite. Swift power is nice just for that ability to smack an opponent good with your saber and then nail him with some Force Lightning as a follow-up in the same round.

Now, looking at the rest of the character, might I suggest dropping one of your other powers for Force Shield? If you ever find yourself in a bind, this can give you at least four rounds of protection to get out of the area or catch a second wind or move yourself up to the top of the condition track, not to mention it can be activated as a reaction to being shot at by the Rebel soldier with the portable proton torpedo launcher. Unfortunately, it takes a standard action to maintain the power so you can't keep yourself shielded and attack at the same time, but it's a solid option (at least until you get your droids built, at which point, it works in a pinch when you find yourself not adjacent to one of them or if they find themselves disabled). Also, Move Object is one of the most universally useful Force powers in my opinion. You can't go wrong having multiple uses of it.

Oi, your absolutely right about needing the persuasion and deception. This was a reworked character where I initially had persuasion and used the the feat for training deception. Then I added the background and thought I could take deception in the beginning and totally missed that I still needed persuasion... Hmm, okay... I think looking at it again, I'm going to drop perception as a trained skill. While harsh I think I can rely on my buddies to find threats and just go from there. Maybe add perception onto the droids and have them keep me informed. Deflect does sound like one of the better choices. I may hold off on the force shield. See how my droids do defending me after the first couple encounters and maybe pick it up next level.
Alright, cool good advice, thanks alot.

So, we're going up to level 6. I've already changed one of my Jedi levels to noble, which interestingly didn't require and changes but the numbers next to Jedi and noble. I've been looking at the collaborator tree. It fits the kind of deceptive infiltrator character I've developed. Any way, I'm looking for my specifics this level. I'm thinking force training to get some more powers but I don't know if there's something in intrigue that I should look at.
Let me know what you guys think.
