Curious if Watto has seen in his travels any stats for the z-9 rotary cannon used during the Clone Wars specifically in the Hunt for Grievous story arc, and Rookies campaign.

I'd love to see what Holonet gear Watto has...and maybe a talk about the Holonet in game.

Does Watto have any personal computers? They interest but I'm not 100% as to what there in game use would be, based on the KotOR games a data pad can be use as an interface for hacking/slicing would the PC give circumstance bonuses to checks maybe adding the PC's int. mod. being that it would start friendly?

They already have this in the core book. I forgot it's name off the top of my head put it's something like personal computer, or laptop computer, but basically that's what it is. And yeah you got it perfectly, it would give you a bonus to all Use Computer checks equal to it's INT mod (which is either +1 or +2, I don't remember which) if it's friendly. You'd just have to hook up to come computer terminal port, probably the same thing R2 does in all the movies.

I knew it was in the book but I was never sure what it did. Thanks of the clarification.

In the SECR Equipment section (p. 136), there are 2 devices: Datapad: Basic computer functions, interface with computer networks, INT=12 Portable Computer: Fit in back pack/attache', pretty powerful, INT=14

Hello all you out there,
first a question
Do you think a guy having the following list of items on his person attract attention of the people manning security in DoD 8 (note this is a question about the security personnel not about the weapon scanners)
2 code cylinders (keys) a pack of cigarettes (make that death sticks) and a lighter, a couple pieces of sealed nicorette gum (he's trying to stop smoking, but he still smokes after sex), some breath spray to cover the deathstick odor, a small tube of whitening tooth paste (hey deathsticks discolor teeth and he's not planning on going to HIS home tonight), a small travel tooth brush, a very small pack of mint flavored dental floss, a comb, a few condoms, a credit stick, a watch (make that chronometer), a comlink, small high definition holo-recorder/projector (hey he likes to record his encounters)
the last bit... well the heiress is obviously based off of Paris Hilton
on second thought lets combine that comlink and holo-recorder/projector into an iphone type gadget, and have an "bluetooth" earpiece so he can talk hands free.
so would those items attract attention, considering the venue in DoD 8.
Question 2, how can we make these (and similar) items into James-Bond-ish gadgets (think of the bond films prior to Casino Royal), with an emphasis on things that can be used as weapons but aren't actually weapons, so they won't set of weapons scanners.
here's what I've got so far. by the nature of their function, code cylinders require an energy cell and a shortrange wifi receiver. Where I'm going with this, how about some code cylinders whose energy cells can be set to overload, note that this is NOT an explosion it is a sudden release of the energy stored in a power cell. In order to overload the code cylinders 2 things have to happen, 1 twist the code cylinders, 2 use the iphone gizmo to take a safety off (or remotely trigger). I think their are now rules to overload anything with an energy cell or power pack, but that might actually be restricted to things like blasters etc.
the nicorrete gum actually functions as nicorette gum, but when you chew or otherwise mash it up, drop it into alcohol, put a spritz of the breath freshener into the alcohol and light it on fire, it produces a good deal of smoke. fire extinguisher type concealment
by itself the whitening toothpaste (which functions as such) is otherwise inert, but when you spray it with the breath freshener, and wait 30 seconds to cure, you get plastic explosive.
When you spray the (mint flavored) dental floss with the breath freshener and wait a few seconds it becomes a wick, which you can light with the cigarette lighter.
The cigarette lighter would also be good for lighting molotov cocktails (there's sure to be plenty of alcohol on the train)
I'm also trying to think of some way to conceal a few small tools, suitable for picking locks... ok course hiding tools could draw attention, maybe a very small swiss army knife with a blade too small to be useful as a weapon, some tweezers, scissors, that kind of thing. You'd want to be able to cut the wire on a bomb, or take a hard drive out of a computer.
so do you guys have any suggestions, oh and some stats for the things I've listed already would be appreciated, oh and some techy functions for the iphone, it should definitely work as a datapad, amplify sound (hear a whisper from across the room) maybe act like that med sensor from threats of the galaxy, not to mention the heat sensor that sort of thing, i don't want it to be able to be used as a weapon, of course projecting realistic holographic images as a diversion is a great idea. And the ear piece could be "accidentally" left somewhere as a "bug."
Some of you might be thinking of suggesting the molecular stiletto from Threats of the Galaxy as James-bond-ish gear, while it would get past biological security personal it would be a little to obvious to a weapon scanner.
I'm thinking of ordinary items, whose normal function can be subtly manipulated to give them combat functionality.
and for the curious, no I'm not thinking of having R&D whip this stuff up a day before DoD8, I was actually thinking of this having highly concealable spy-gear items on hand long before I heard the plot to DoD 8. DoD8 just made me think you know what this could actually be useful in a game.
oh and price tags, what do you guys think is fair for this kind of thing.
-Elias

"a pack of cigarettes (make that death sticks) and a lighter" Elias, you are aware that in spite of sharing a (nick)name, SW "death sticks" aren't cigarettes? They are tubes of the hallucinogen ixetal cilona. Perhaps you meant "cigarras"? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Death_stickshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cigarra

So to anybody who's asking I meant cigarra's in my previous post

Lighter + breath spray with hidden additive = mini flamethrower?

Zertz wrote: Lighter + breath spray with hidden additive = mini flamethrower? That's actually pretty good, i hadn't thought of it. but the techie in me wonders-if/suspects-that the weapon scanners might be able to detect anything flammable. The uses of the breath spray with hidden additive I listed above still allow the breath spray to be inert by itself but when combined with another substance reacts to form something volatile. This is basically the reason we aren't allowed to bring a container with more than 3 oz of liquid past the security station in an airport. It's really tough to detect that unassembled components are dangerous. Here's a work around though, the lighter also has a special additive in its fuel and when that particular lighter is used with that particular breath spray you get a mini-flame-thrower, because the gaseous additive in lighter fluid's flame combines with the other special additive in the breath freshener, that is entirely consistent with the above uses of the breath spray. GREAT WORK Zertz!!!

Wondering if Watto happens to have a Jedi StealthX Starfighter, which makes no sense because they were developed long after his time but, THAT'S NOT THE POINT!
I was thinking taking the stats for the XJ3 X-Wing, removing 10 SR for an EP and then adding a Bafflad Drive and Sensor Baffling from the Starship Modifications section of SaV for 2 EP. Thoughts?
By the way, my Holocron struck gold on Matthew "Tao" Myers' website, you may want to see if Watto can dig up a Holocron from his vast collection of old "junk."
