I'm glad you enjoyed it. A legion, you say? Step one in taking over the world, check. step 2 get a small mouse sidekick named Pinky

Been following the thread for this game down in the Skype gaming sub-forum, and it sounds like a hoot. Plus, it's another chance to listen to Kat's ever-so-charming voice. Even if she is cursing enough to make an old-salt sailor blush

Loved the show. Surprised by its abrupt stop... like in the middle of a sentence. Garrett

Brev, just do a puppet show, doing Kat's voice, in a summary. I'd love to hear your one man show. Garrett

Great podcast guys. Skype is a fickle ***** for sure.
Out of curiosity, what was the aspect thing you were using in the episode, Brev? It sounding intriguing.

Out of curiosity, what was the aspect thing you were using in the episode, Brev? It sounding intriguing. Players pick 3 aspects about their characters, there really are no hard and fast rules for them. GM then picks appropriate moments to invoke said aspects offering a Force Point as enticement (usually because playing out the aspect is a bad idea ) e.g. Delicate negotiations, some guy from the other side marks a snide remark about rezzik "Rezzik, would you like a hero point to invoke Uncage the Beast" Rezzik of course says yes and punches the guy out Negotiations fall apart Firefight begins Of course players have the option not to take the force point Also players can invoke their own aspects and if the GM thinks its force point worthy will give them one. basically its to encourage role playing as well as giving players a couple of core concepts about their character they can return to when they're not sure what their character might do in a given situation. Good for breaking the ice in a young game.

Sammy's right!
The aspects helped in a number of ways: -It encouraged roleplaying between people that really didn't know each other. Helped break the ice. -It adds a ton of humor to situations. Nothing is funnier than knowing the other players cringe when an aspect they know can be horrible for this situation is invoked. -Helps develop character. All good characters, in fiction and reality, have aspects to them. Moses stuttered, FDR had polio, Lincoln was depressed, Richard I (of England) loved war and couldn't care less about ruling England, Luke Skywalker is impetious/hot-headed, Anakin is selfish, Palpatine is arrogant, Indiana Jones only believes what he can see, taste, touch, hear and feel - he has no faith, Wolverine is hot tempered and cannot remember his own past, Cyclops has a singular vision on all things, Batman loses his humanity to be a hero while Peter Parker holds on to guilt which keeps him webslinging as Spider-Man...and the list goes on. These are aspects of characters that make them interesting, palpable and CHARACTERS. To say; "My character is a loner, a bad ass, and out for himself" equates to boring, unimaginative 2 dimensional rip-offs that are better suited as cannon-fodder than actual heroes. I'm blessed that my group didn't do that and they trusted me enough to go with this idea. That being said, I don't think I've done enough invoking of aspects lately, but I don't have to; my Players are comfortable in their character's skin now and love playing them. Makes me sad the sessions are about over, actually...
I wish every group the success, fun and excitement my group brings me.
