As the topic says I'm looking for a good headset. I don't really know much about what brands are good and which lines are good. Looking for a good set for around 100 dollars but hopefully less then that. My older one died but even before that people often had problems hearing me on vent. Partially I am guessing cause of a poor mic on a cheap headset. I really need a decent mic on the headset cause I tend to play at night and my wife and son go to bed by 9 and i don't want to be waking them up when I am talking loud to make up for a low quality mic on the headset.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Not looking for top of the line but more the best quality for the 50$-100$ or around there.

As a person who has a big head, and who has gone through a plethera of headsets and ear jacks, the first thing you want to concern your self with is that damn mute/sound up pannel on any head set. Its the number one cause for snafus for me and is the first thing that I seem to destroy somehow. You want a very sturdy and large pannel on it that the wires are securly in. Im using a microsoft lifechat headset, and ill never go back. Not only is it big enough but its also comfortable.. with the leather padding. Its also sturdy and the mic is unobtrusive. I picked out a USB port one, which is very nice becuase I dont have to dig around and find the right jack for the computer.
Now a days I see more and more wireless models but they have bad mute/sound vloume controls.

I paid about 70 bucks for it, but I have not had to get a new headset for now 2 years, which is a big deal, as I seemed to go through them every 6 months before hand. Its just the right sensitivity, though my significant other keeps saying im too loud, as the headsets are so comfy and eleminate noise that I can't hear my self UNLESS I TALK REALLY LOUD! Then if i us the listen feedback choice I end up talking funny as you hear your self and then have to stop or studder. I guess thats why you go to school to figure and fix touse things out.

Anyways, I hope that helps.
