Hi gang.
Lots of excitement today.
I know you've all been running through your list of the 5 'W's on this whole server transfer business and I want to take a moment to address at least one or two of your concerns.
Your guild leadership is working on how this should be done for the guild as a whole. While individuals can move across easily enough, we will need to coordinate the transfer of the bank's inventory and make sure members of the guild who have not been on today, or only play at the weekends have a chance to know what is going on and why. If we were to head over en masse now we would cause nothing but confusion and bad feelings among those who do not follow guild happenings on a regular basis. When my main character, Sikandar, moves, the guild will have to be disbanded before that can happen and we don't want to leave folks hanging out to dry on Vrook.
If you are concerned about holding a name over on the new server, we encourage you to make a dummy character with that name so that it is available to you there.
We'd also like to suggest that readers of this board leave at least one character in the guild on Vrook in case we need help transporting the inventory of the bank to the new server.
All of this is preliminary and there is, at this time, neither a concrete plan for moving, nor a date selected for the move.
Further details will be forthcoming as your guild leadership decides how best to go about this. In the mean time, please be patient and keep an eye on this thread for more information.
Thanks.

Reposted from the Heroes of the Expanse boards: Hello, everyone. Today, it was announced that a voluntary server transfer is available for characters on the Vrook Lamar server to the Begeren Colony server. Many players have asked me if the Heroes of the Expanse is going to take part in this server transfer. After discussing the issue with Fiddleback, the leader of the Order of 66, the answer we have come up with is "Not yet". Calm down, take a deep breath, and know that right now things are continuing as normal. We're going to take stock of the situation, and Fiddleback is checking with his community contact at BioWare to get more information. That said, there are a few things you should do now, so you will have peace of mind: * If you have a legacy name, create a level 1 character on Vrook Lamar (or pick a character you don't use on Vrook Lamar) and go through the process of transferring that character to Begeren Colony. That will copy your Legacy over to Begeren Colony, and tell you if that legacy name is taken. If that happens, you'll have the option to pick a new legacy name for that server. * Go to Begeren Colony, and create "placeholder" characters for any character name that you want to keep. If you can choose the name, you're safe until we decide if/when to transfer. If you can't choose that name, you'll know that switching servers will force you to pick a new name for that character. Remember, this is Day 1 of the server transfer being available. It's not a race, and BioWare is not going to suddenly turn the Vrook Lamar --> Begeren Colony transfer off. They want people to transfer voluntarily, because that's a lot easier on them then having to force involuntary transfers and potentially lose customers. This thread will be updated as more information becomes available. If a decision is made to transfer to the new server, we will give you advance notice, so it can be done in an orderly fashion without disrupting guild events. Our Friday night guild event (6/15) will occur as normal on Vrook Lamar. (Original post: http://www.heroesoftheexpanse.com/forum ... r-transfer)

It should be noted that your legacy name isn't actually transferred per se. Your character comes across with their current Legacy XP total and unlocks, but you still have to open the Legacy window on the new server to set the name even if it doesn't collide with an existing legacy name.

Are any new chat channels being opened to allow newly transferred toons easy communication?

Thanks for the head's up on the Legacy name, TheLonelySandPerson. I was even able to tweak the spelling to something I like better. Last night the system let me transfer my L9 smuggler Monty without a problem. This morning, his name is now a random mash of letters about 15 characters long. I think I'll have to contact support to see if I can have it changed on their end. I'd rather not delete the character and start over.

That's what happens when the character name is already taken. It will require you to change the name when you log into any character. Unless you've already done that, in which case that's really weird.

Thats a PTS feature as soon as you try to login it should ask you to change the name because it doesn't meet the naming requirements.

Deposits of items and credits to the guild bank have been disabled at this time. No sense moving more than we absolutely have to.
At this time, if there is something in the guild bank you can, or could in the near future, use, please feel free to take it and use it or store it for later in your personal vault.

Revan_the_2nd came across this last night, along with needing to change his Legacy name & at least 1 toon's name. For anyone else running into the Name Already Taken sitch, he ended up just adding an apostrophe somewhere in each name.

Will we be using the Placeholders channel for the Order like we did with Exiled Lords? I've got all of my characters over at Begeren Colony now just waiting for the guild to pop up.

The move will be occurring starting at Noon Pacific on Saturday.
Hopefully as many folks as possible will be available to assist with the movement of items and the guiding of the confused at that time.

I know you've all been running through your list ... Thanks. I already mentioned this to Fiddleback but wanted to share that I was very tired the first time I read his statement. So tired, that at first glance, I thought he had written; "Hi gang. Lots of excrement today".

I'll be at work when we do the main migration, so I'm going to move before then, either tonight or sometime Saturday. Revan will help me transfer Dannae if I can't figure out how to do it, though I will need someone else to invite me into the Guild. Revan can't be in the game at the same time because he's got the only computer that can run the game.

Hey Brian, can we get the limit on the number of items we can pull from the bank removed? That would make it a lot easier to get all the stuff moved over. I have Ookla's gear page completely available, but I was only able to pull my limit of 5.
