JR pulls his hanging hand back and glances up at Lt. Thoror with a puzzled look on his face.
"Ooooo-kaaaaay"
The look makes it all the way around the room, and lands squarley back on the skinny, scared jedi.
"Alright, Pendlewhi-.....Wendell, whatever your name is, I think you need to take the Sgt.'s advice and get a grip. You just misunderstod me partner, it's an expression 'scared the Sith out of me, or scared the Sith out of us', It doesn't literally mean that we ARE Sith..... C'mon man, pull your self together, there ain't no Sith here."

"Padawan don't worry about the Sith...had there been any here Banshee" The Sgt thumbs at a antique appearing sonic rifle leaning against the table next to him, " would have already been screaming....she has a good nose for them."
"Don't worry till you hear her chittering"
"Now back to the problem at hand..... ". Looking to the map
"JR you are fast on the draw.... How fast can you run?" and with an evil smile "I got an idea"

The smuggler's furrowed brow relaxes as a smile slowly stretches back out into the wide grin he had just a moment before.
"Well......back home my nickname was 'JR the Pan-thar'. Ever heard of a Corellian Sand Panther?"

Pendlewheeze slowly uncurls from the floor and, curiosity getting the better of him, joins the others to peer at the maps.

((I was waiting to post to see if anyone else would jump in, but I suppose we merry four will just carry on. Everyone else- don't feel intimidated to drop in at any time! Maybe you were snoozing in a corner or something. For the sake of the scenario, let's say we've got somewhere around 15-20 people in this rag-tag band.))
Thoror holsters his blaster and mutters to himself. "Of all the Jedi in the galaxy, this is what I get handed? And they ask me why I don't believe in fate... almost wish he had been a spy."
He lets out a long sigh and focuses his attention on the sergeant. "Let's hear this idea of yours, no one else seems to be piping up."

Derian Marr, grandson of Vissas Marr, seer of future events, too wise for his age, little bit of a know it all. Derian Marr knows nothing of his grandmother other than she once was the student of a great Jedi, however his own fate not so much of a mystery. Sight, no Force sight, being second nature to Derian allowed him to see things differently from the other revanchist, his future is not only known but expected. Unbeknownst to most Derian sees his current actions as predetermined to some extent. The force guides his every move and motive, when there is a question the force will provide the answer.
Taught by Master Kalin Ralkin to respect all living things, Derian has no room in his personality for shortsighted individuals with no patience or good will. Master Ralkin once said "When something disturbs you, first look to see it's not your own shortcomings that are the actual something." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Clearing his throat and stepping from the shadow, a slight built humanoid who's features are obscured by deep earth tone robes says.
"A Jedi's worth is not determined by his demeanor, Lieutenant. Padawan Pendelwheeze cannot help the fact he was trained by an "overbearing windbag" as Master Ralkin calls him."
Laying back his deep hood a young Miraluka male with a calm, confident air about him (almost the exact opposite of the other Jedi) approaches the table. With a kind yet confident pat on the back of Pendelwheeze he continues.
"It would appear good Lt Thoror that even though you don't believe in fate it seems to believe in you, as I foresaw this meeting only last week. However, the future is always in motion and some things here are different from my vision. Which is to say only the best laid plans have any hope of success, so on that note Master Ralkin would have me join you as my talent at foreseeing the future may be of assistance to the objective. Please Sgt Perrian continue."

Pendlewheeze interrupts and turns to the Miraluka and says, "Actually, I'm not a Padawan any more. I graduated. Just yesterday in fact." He points to the embroidery on his robe. "I'm a Knight now. Which I thought was particularly nice of Master Sullban considering the accident. I'm sure they can do something about his arm, it didn't look too serious. He'll probably have full use of it in a week or two."
He looks around the room at the others and laughs nervously. "Mind you," he says, "it wasn't a big ceremony like some of the others got, but I did get a nice escort out of the facility. And he did say I was definitely through with my training and could go be a knight now. Then he sent me here. And here I am."
More nervous laughter.

Pointing to the two hills the Lt. pointed out...
"This first ambush is going to easiest since they are not likely to expect a coordinated effort this soon after the occupation which means we can do a little differently than we will in the future as they are not likely to have aerial units nearby..."
looking around at the assembled fighters
"I suggest we divide into three teams... I'll lead the fire team"
Pointing to the hill along the right side of the road...
"We will hide beyond the crest of the hill out of sight of the road"
Then pointing to the road itself
"The Lt. should lead the second group... secreted in bushes and in holes along the side of the road"
Finally pointing to JR and Knight Pendle
"You two will be both the diversion and the trigger in the trap"
Grinning at the two and holding up a hand to prevent protest
"Don't worry... what I suggest minimizes the risk.... Knight Pendle will lay low on the hill before more fire team.... JR.... you my friend will get their attention as they drive by... I suggest rocks or sticks or something.. non lethal....enough to piss them off but not enough for them to consider shooting at you. Know the Sith a couple good rocks should be enough for them stop and dismount a portion of their security detail.... "
He then points to the top of the hill...
"Thats when you run for it.... they will no doubt give chase... they aren't much better than dogs in that sense.... "
Pointing to Knight Pendle...
"Your job will be to watch for the pursuit force... should they slow down or not give chase all you need to do stand up... light your saber and motion for JR to run faster..."
"If they weren't interested before they will be now.... you two need to high tail it back to my teams position.... when the Sith crest the top of the hill Banshee and the rest of my team will welcome them properly... I'll need to set up slight off from the main team if we encounter 'actual' Sith as Banshee will make me target #1....but I accept that risk."
Looking to the Lt. "Once JR and Knight Pendle have pulled the security detail away... Your team will need to jump the remaining Sith.... and make off with the vehicles.... will luck they will be hovers so no tracks will be left... but either way... put as much distance as you can between the ambush site and us as you can... away from the farm land too would be probably be good as well.. we should involve them unless we have to..."
Returning his gaze to the map
"Once the distraction team and my fire team deal with the Sith we will force march into the wilderness and lay low for several days before rejoining you... with like there attention will be divided enough to give both teams the best chance of surviving the encounter."
Looking up at the assembly...
"What do you think of my idea?"

The Lt. interlocks his fingers and rests his elbows on the table, frowning in thought.
He takes in a deep breath through his nose before speaking. "It's not a half-bad idea. It's not much more than half-good, either, but I doubt we'll do much better than half given our current situation. Considering how lightly guarded those convoys are going to be until they know we're here. They're expecting farmers with hunting blasters, at worst. We've got a dozen good troopers, a Jedi and a half, and a smuggler that probably wouldn't have survived this long with that much ego if he wasn't at least a half-decent shot."
He takes a breath and paces the other direction around the table, making eye contact briefly with everyone in the room.
"Only part I don't like is being split up that long. It's not safe to use commlinks. Especially after the attack, they'll be scanning all frequencies. If we have to stay apart that long, we need at least one Sensitive in both groups." He gives Pendlewheeze a derisive but defeated look. "You're not cut out to rough it, just taking a wild guess. So you come with us." He then turns to the Miraluka. "You think you can lay low with the sergeant? Keep us in contact?"

"Is it too late to volunteer to guard this base? I could, for instance, take up 'position' from underneath this very nice table. Wouldn't want anything to happen to it, would we...."
"No?"
"Yes?"
"Oh bother..."

As JR takes another pull off his flask, his squinted eyes go into full-on stare-down mode at Pendlewheeze.
"Boss, this little jedi is giving me a BAAAD feeling... You've got the right idea about wanting to keep your eye on 'em, and plus I wasn't up for babysitting anyhow."

"Yes?"
"Oh bother..." The Sgt. looks over at Pendle.. "Son... whats got you so jumpy about the Sith?... at this point we have all see the ugly side of war" looking down at his legs and raisinge his arm... "Hell some of us have given them a down payment and years in rehab..."

Pendlewheeze looks at the mechanical appendages of the Seargant.
"I like my arms and legs," he says. "I want to keep them. They're the only ones I know and I've gotten used to them. So pardon me if I don't particularly relish the thought of donating them to the landscape. "
Pendlewheeze considers for a moment and then a sort of glazed look comes over his face.
"Besides, you seem to be running out of loose dangly bits to throw at the Sith and this so called plan you've all come up with is only going to make it that much easier for everyone to toss the odd arm or leg into the mix. Look at you people with your big guns and fancy assault plans. What none of you seem to realize is that people get hurt in these things. People die, for Force sake. It's awfully hard to fight the Sith if everyone who supposed to be doing it is just so much ash blowing in the wind, don't you think? The least you can do is try to make sure it's the other people who go on the organ donor list and not your own. What you want are mines. Lots of mines just there between those hills," he waves a hand at the map. "And then us, some where safe where we won't become instant targets when we show our faces, like, perhaps the OTHER side of those hills at least, if not farther away. And you set the mines up to be remote detonated instead of pressure triggered or proximity triggered, by one man watching the column advance so that he can wait until the entire caravan is in the gap and then sequentially detonate them so that each vehicle is disabled and anyone out in the open gets the opportunity to be a real humanitarian. Then, if anyone is left alive, and if you've done it right there won't be many, your forces sweep up to the top of the hills from all sides into superior firing positions during all the confusion from the mines going off and eliminate the survivors. Use grenades for extra fun, a couple of heavy rifles to deal with any vehicles without enough holes in them and some actual sharpshooters who talk less about how good they are and the glory of battle and have some actual decent skills and it shouldn't be much of a problem. Once the field is cleared, swoop in, get your information or whatever the point of this plan is, and get out, but take nothing with us that will slow us down because you can bet that as soon as the first mine goes off, someone somewhere will be on the comms calling for reinforcements and you'll have a ton of extra Sith on us in no time. Unless you have someone clever enough to jam communications. Oh, and leave us Jedi out of it because we'll only want to prevent as much death and destruction as possible and will probably try to negotiate us to a peaceful resolution. So leave us here with all our arms and legs in tact, thank you very much."
He seems to snap out of whatever place he was just in and looks around at all your faces.
"What? What did I just say?"

The Sgt. and raises his left eyebrow in curiousity and then looks to the Lt. with a questioning expression.

A knowing smile briefly crosses the consular's eyeless face, then he says.
"Yes, yes the recent knighting I had forgotten, congratulations."
" And as for the peaceful way out most times there is one but not always especially when dealing directly with the sith and those under their influence. I personally would rather take action in this case the sith presence will not likely be open to negotiations. And the civilians here do not deserve this "treatment" any more than the planets the Republic has liberated. Besides negotiations were never my specialty anyway."
"But more to the point, I think both plans have merit. Tactics, also not my specialty, I will leave that to those of you with experience in such matters. What I do know is the force has brought us together to help those in need and both ends of my saber are at your service."
Under his breath, "I've been waiting for you to show up."
