I paint minis for LOTR SBG, but none of them are anywhere NEAR that good.

Those look pretty awesome, yeah. I picked up my very first non-prepainted miniature this past summer, and as much as I'd like to learn how to paint these things, I'm afraid that if I do, my elven archer will end up looking all hideous.

Don't worry. The worst thing that can happen is that you'll have to paint over it. The main thing is just taking your good sweet time.

Yeah, you can always strip it if it doesn't work out too well. I do commission painting too if you are at all interested in that.

Also remember nobody starts out painting perfect minis. You will get better with time.
I still cringe when I look at some of my earlier minis - but I use them anyway. Heck, I'm not in it for painting awards, just for the fun.

I've been playing the LOTR SBG for a while, and I very much intend to get these damn things painted. Neglected for the better part of a year and a half, maybe. These are a few of my little brother's which I painted (the first miniatures I've ever attempted painting), and he managed to break (troll's sword). And the most recent in a series of WIP shots of my army. I've got another eight mounted knights, and then sixty or so soldiers (20 swords, lancers, and archers) on foot to paint, then my heroes.

Never looked at Runewars before, that particular piece reminds me of Doom. Broke away fro LOTR today, and did some work on my Ork Warboss. The plan is to go to my semi-local Games Workshop after work on Friday and scout it out, see how the gaming scene is there and maybe learn 40K or get some LOTR SBG in.

My brother is getting me into Flames of War WWII miniatures, I haven't painted any yet, but the infantry is TINY I can put a couple of troopers on the end joint of my finger - not really looking forward to painting those, it'll be a big challenge to get them to be neatly painted.
