My characters just finished up their 5th day of Black Powder Week and are doing pretty well with the investigations and such, but it seems like they will not be able to do everything in the book. There is a lot of running around the town that takes time and such. I am thinking this is intentional and that investigating some things are kind of just meant to be a waste of time. Am I correct in my assumptions?

The story is what you make of it. The ending will happen despite what the players do. Feel free to alter or dimish the effect of the last scene if you believe the players made a difference.

Let the story play out as it will.
