We are playing through Spires of Altdorf and the players are doing the foot work now and talking to the npcs and what not. I think my PCs are getting antsy though and have mostly interested in chasing down the distractions. I have sent them a combat each session to help sate their bloodlust. Should I just turn them all into initiates of Khorne? :)

One of the PCs actually went to Wolfgang and asked him for help. When he offered it, everyone was pretty excited, so I think we will be escalating down that path.

Any ideas for me to help them enjoy the non combat things as well. They tended to like the investigation in Ashes of Middenheim, but it was a bit more straight forward and their was less of it.

So far, I have fed them a couple of introductions through random chance meetings as they haven't been doing a good job of seeking them out themselves.

One of the characters after the last session said he felt like they didn't accomplish anything. I told him they did, as they met several new people and got on the good side of a couple very influential people.

Thanks for any ideas.

Think da vinci code.

Depending on how things went in middenhiem, it is possible there will be rumors amongst the Sigmarians. A misguided priest or witchhunter might decide to take the players down. They could be misguided or perhaps trying to protect the truth.

Note: In my game, there actually was a connection between Korne and Sigmar.

Other ideas:
Do one of the players owe anybody money?

Are there any thieves in your group? Did they do a job without permission from the local crime lord? Did they fail to give the local crime lord a "taste"? The boys from Tilea may want to have more than a word with your crew.

From the Enemy within: Have one of the player be mistaken for a cultist. Every now and then have random NPCs make odd gestures like pulling their left ear while sucking on the thumb in their right hand (think baseball signals). Where this ends is up to you, but everybody loves to kill cultists.

Champion of sorts: Perhaps there is a creditor who has besmirched the reputation of poor lady (the one with the house that is falling apart). She needs a champion to defend her honor.

Good luck with your game. I would enjoy seeing a quick summary of how things are going.

The players have gotten pretty chummy with Lord Frederick, but they haven't really been asking to meet other people like Dieter told them too, so I have been giving them chance meetings with him that introduce them to new characters.
