Just started playing her. We rolled 4d6 drop lowest, and my stats turned out to be comparable to the point buy system, except I was able to start with a lower strength score.

Elwen, Elf Cleric
Image
Init +4 HP 18/25 Bloodied 12 Healing Surge 6 (1 used / 8 )
AC 16 Fort 11 Reflex 14 Will 16 Speed 7
Str 6 (-2) Con 13 (+1) Dex 18 (+4) Int 12 (+1) Wis 18 (+4) Cha 14 (+2)

Leather Armor, Longbow, Dagger

Lance of Faith
Sacred Flame

Elven Accuracy (Racial)
Divine Glow

Beacon of Hope

Skills: Arcana, Diplomacy, Heal, Religion, Stealth

Feats: Ritual Caster (Class bonus feat), Warrior of the Wild

Style/Personality: A nimble healer, lightly armored and focused on mobility. Her roaming lifestyle has also helped her to pick up a few skills outside the clerical norm, and she can function a bit as a scout when the need arises. Her abilities are largely focused on ranged spells and archery. She is impulsive, quiet but prone to quickly shifting passions.

Physical Description:
5'6". An Elven form, still holding the slightly awkward curves of a girl just blossoming into womanhood, sweeps to a lithe five and a half feet. Her eyes are a pale, sparkling green, lined with a fan of dark lashes. The delicate span of her brow, shimmering with an inky black arc above each emerald orb, curves down into a small nose, a cute, rounded tip giving her face a child-like air. Her cheekbones are high and defined, her lips a pink pout upon her pale skin. Her hair, the same silken ebony as her brows, flows down her back in loose twists and waves, brushing the smooth curve of her back. Her form, beginning to grow into the slender curves of adulthood, still holds the thin, toned lines of her youth. She wears a pale green dress, made of fine, delicate silk, embroidered along the hems in silver and emerald thread. The neckline is wide, leaving her slim shoulders bare, highlighting defined collarbones. The long sleeves hold tight around her arms down to her wrists, where they flare slightly, trailing just a few inches in embroidered elegance over her hands. The torso of the dress also clings to her modest figure, tight to her waist before flaring gently in a mimic of the sleeves, falling to a few inches about her knees in gentle folds. A sort of dark leather bodice covers the front of the dress, providing a minimum of protection.

Background:
She discovered the goddess Sehanine early in life and quickly took to her teachings. She has spent much of her time wandering, seeking new horizons and adventures. Some part of her wishes to return to her ancestral forests, but there is still much to see and experience first.
Elwen hails from the Harkenwold forest. As a child, she loved to sit at the feet of her aunt Ressilmae and hear tales of adventure, exploration, and romance. She did not realize it at the time, but these bedtime stories were actually religious fables of Sehanine, and her young heart was inflamed with a desire to serve the Moon Goddess. Now, the girl has come of age, and has just been anointed a priestess in the service of Sehanine. Before setting out on a life of adventure and exploration, as is befitting one of Sehanine's faithful, she wishes to travel to Fallcrest to obtain Ressilmae's blessing.

Ah, the lazer cleric :) But with the option for expanded range courtesy of the longbow.

Pretty cool, and nice work on both the description and background.

Thanks! Yeah it seemed like since I was getting a bonus to dex anyway from being an elf, that ranger seemed like a good multiclass feat. I'll probably get perception soon, combined with stealth, I'll be able to go along with the party's scout in case things get ugly. I'll be multiclassing into some ranger powers later that help her get out of the front lines if she finds herself there.

Are you going to pick up some ranger powers at fourth level?

I'm planning on it, yes, though I have not decided which powers to switch out.

The ranger has some powers that are great for the lightly armored cleric who does not want to be in the thick of things, and the best part is they take advantage of my high wisdom score.

Evasive strike allows me to shift 5 squares and attack for 2d10 +4 with my bow.

Fox's cunning lets me shift 1 square when someone makes a melee attack against me and then make a basic bow attack with a +4 bonus from wisdom.

Cut and Run is about the same as Evasive Strike, except it lets me split the attack into two small attacks instead of one larger one.

Disruptive Strike does not help me get out of trouble like the others, but it DOES allow me to give whoever I hit with it a -7 to hit when he attacks one of my allies. Preventing damage is even better than healing it, since I only get two healing words per battle. This is a good example of a ranger power that plays off of dexterity AND wisdom, while at the same time helping my 'leader' role.

Nice character build Elwen.

Since you are an Elf I would say having Perception is paramount, it prevents you from falling into traps and getting ambushed, something that a person with mid-range AC should always be glad to have.

My play test ranger had a Passive Perception of 20, which came in VERY handy indeed.

Once you train in Perception your Passive score will be 21, good luck on these enemies trying to sneak up on you :)

Good luck and happy gaming :)

Thanks! I was torn between Perception and Stealth for my multiclass skill. I ended up going with stealth and it has come in handy but I definitely could use perception as well. I think skill training Perception will be my level 2 feat...Astral Fire can wait. I also want Elven Precision of course..so many feats, so little time. Sehanine's Reversal seems fun too!

Sehanine's Reversal is so hard to get to trigger, in my opinion, but a cool concept. I love the character, it inspired me to make a similar character, sorry I also stole your pic, after my Dwarf Battle Cleric died to a goblin berzerker. Be sure to let us know what happens with your campaign.
