You realize that, aside from your 32 point buy, you'll have TWO skill bumps at level 4 and 8, right? Holy shmoley. Yeah. You can make a wookiee god at 10th level, with plenty of Force Use, who is also a big beat-stick. Must... think... Will... return.... [runs away to books furiously]

Its a primitive society, so he won't be using any fancy weapons, possibly prefering hand-to-hand. This is an important distinction, before we start throwing builds out there. Wow level 10. Man so many ways to be a beat stick. Hampster any particular way you wanna beat? You want to dual wield, single wield but use both hands? Details baby details

I was planning to wield a single lightsaber, two-handed. That wookiee strength bonus is killer when you get to double it on damage rolls. Since we're a three-person party, I was figuring I would end up soaking up damage and dealing with lots of smaller enemies, while the other two flank and use force powers for the biggies. Or whatever. Since combat is sort of this character's shtick, that's all I need to focus on: taking damage and dealing damage by beating on enemies with wookiee rage and a two-handed lightsaber (now that I put all that together in my mind, that does sound pretty ridiculous...). Thinking about it now, I don't think I'm really going to need any help dealing extra damage, just being a wookie with a two-handed weapon pretty much takes care of that, but what I'm more concerned about is can I take a hit, and how versatile am I. That is, what can I do when the "hit it with a glowing stick" method doesn't work. Because one-trick pony characters are fun when they're doing that one trick, but GMs learn fast, and I hate feeling kneecapped (who doesn't?).
Thanks HP

Ok. Then I would go with Dono's Build. You will end up with 22 Str and 20 Con. Freaking awesome. My only difference is I would take 8 levels in Jedi then 7 in Knight and 5 in Master
Talents 1: Deflect 3: Block 5: Redirect Shot 7: Weapon Specialization 9: Shii-Cho Feats: 1: Force Training - Surge and Battle Strike 2:SF - UTF 3: Force Training - Rebuke and Draw Closer(lightsaber form) 4: Rapid Strike 6: Weapon Focus - Lightsabers, and Double Attack 8: Force Boon 9: Force Training - Saber Swarm(lightsaber form), Sarlac Sweep(lightsaber form)
Technique 10: Improved Battle Strike
My 5 cents worth.

Arkkkhash uses melee weapons, what with a +5 to strength (Ain't Wookiees just dandy?), and a passion for collecting anything big and pointy. He currently sports a Wookiee-sized war sword and a vibroax, which he alternates between. I imagine that this player is not as glory-hungry as Salurra, and therefore will probably hold onto his weapons, posessing the feat Power Attack and the talent Melee Smash, rather than run in unarmed, so I would say that the gladiator should be a good weapon fighter, on thinking about it, though the tribe of Massassi would only have access to primitive weapons, what with being three weeks walk into the jungle, and living in the ruins of a city not visited by outsiders for 4000 years. My players are fairly inexperienced, but should have a good enough grasp of their characters by this point to handle a decent challenge. TBH, I had a hand in creating this Wookiee, as this is the player's first real foray into roleplaying of any sort, and he has needed a guiding hand at some points, though the concept and general build is his idea, and I basically gave shape to what he was asking to be (I wanna be up front smashing things, more or less)

Hi there, I could use some help with a character I'm creating. It's for an Infinites Rebellion era campaign, and my concept is a down-on-his-luck Human actor recruited by the Alliance as a spy due to his ability to slip seamlessly into any role. I see him as a "face" for the party. The character creation guidelines for the campaign are: level 5 start, 35 point buy for abilities, max starting credits, no Force users, all books up to RECG available to use. I was thinking noble/scoundrel, with high Cha, Dex and Wis, and Deception, Gather Information and Stealth as must have skills. Other skills I figured would be worth having are Acrobatics, Knowledge (galactic lore), Knowledge (bureaucracy), Mechanics, Perception, Persuasion and Use Computer. Plenty of Skill Focuses, Linguist from multiclassing into noble, and talents from the Inspiration tree (to represent his ability to inspire people with words) and Misfortune tree (cloak and dagger striking from the shadows stuff), as well as Connections. If anyone has any other thoughts that would be greatly appreciated.

Jedi Comedian, if you mix scoundrel and noble levels, you pretty much won't be striking from anywhere as you will be the most fragile member of the group, with a lower atack bonus than a single-class noble. Depending on how you want to start skill-wise start either as scoundrel or noble. Noble might give you a better starting talent and more skills, but scoundrel would let you pick both acrobatics and stealth right from the start. I personally would start with noble, just because of the backround of the character, and let him become more sneaky later on if I wanted him to. However I feel like an actor working as a spy wouldn't actually rely on stealth - but much more on deception, since he can ACT being someone else well: If you have access to the clone wars campaign guide, take a serious look at the collaborator talent tree, which I feel would match the concept of an actor working as a spy, feeding false information to the enemy. As for prestiege classes, doing his work with all that decieving and lies might lead him to the road of a Charlatan (scum and villainy), that is always a good prestiege class choice for the deceiving character. With a good deception value you could actually trick most people into believing you or doing what you want them to do. I'd personally go for a twilek for bonus Charisma and deception re-rolls That's my opinion, hope it helps.

Thanks for the advice Zapi. I was already considering the Charlatan as a good route to take. I think I will stick with a Human though - using a Twi'lek to inflitrate the Empire wouldn't make much sense!

Ho-kay. It's a doozie and I know I'm stretching things thin, but I figure if anyone can figure something out, it's the Gamer Nation.
Adapting a character that was from a houseruled RCR game. Force-sensitive soldier who did security detail for a noble that later went into some unorthodox Jedi training.
Began his career in the old system with the following truly pitiful stat spread (compared to some of the other characters, that is) Str: 13 Dex: 16 Con: 12 Int: 14 Wis: 13 Cha: 10
Guidelines 8th Level Using Backgrounds from RECG Made frequent use of Tumble/Acrobatics Wore armor & could use heavy weapons Decent with rifle and lightsaber
Help me out, GamerNation (insert standard "you're my only hope" tag here)

Those are the stats I rolled at character generation, before any level boosts are applied. So it can get slightly less pathetic. Also, while this wasn't a terrible spread for being able to use force powers in RCR, the fact that UtF is a Charisma skill in Saga severely hamstrings my character's force-use abilities. I am aware of this but determined to soldier on! *plays patriotic and inspirational fight song*

I am aware of this but determined to soldier on! *plays patriotic and inspirational fight song* With 2 level boosts, he could have CHA 12 at 8th level, which would give him up to 8 Force power slots--if he took Force Training (FT) for his Level 1, 3 & 6 feats & for the Human bonus feat, if applicable. (IIRC, there's nothing in RAW barring a Human PC from taking FT for both 1st & Human feats.) However many FT feats he takes, I'd suggest picking up at least 1 or 2 [lightsaber forms] powers, since this PC seems a bit more 'saber-jockey than Force wizard. As for "pathetic" CHA, just the other day, I came across a post by GM Chris about how CHA 12 *really* measured up to CHA 14 for Use the Force skill & it didn't sound very bad to me. I can't find the thread right now, but I'm sure GMC will be happy to go over his points in brief here.
