Let's say I use Makarashi from Clone Wars (I might have mis-spelled it). And I keep it up. Once I fail to keep it up, it's no longer in my suite, right? But it's in my suite until I finish with it?

Argyle Jedi I'm assuming you're talking about Morichro or Malacia? First off, as soon as you roll that d20 to activate the power, it's spent from your suite. It doesn't stay in your suite while you maintain it, it's already spent. So whether you maintain it or not, it's been spent. Some powers like these from CWCG 51 require a new Use the Force check every round to maintain. So if you fail the UtF check to maintain (as determined by the minimum DC of the power), then you do in fact fail to maintain it and it remains spent, but can of course be regained into your suite with the expenditure of a Force Point (a reaction) or a natural 20 on a UtF check to activate a power, among other possibilities. Additionally, if you take damage and fail the DC 15+damage taken UtF check, it's the same deal as above.

But it's in my suite until I finish with it? Away has it right; the power is immediately spent. Why do you ask? It is, for example, possible to use an ability (or a force point) to recover the power while you're still maintaining it, which would make it available for immediate re-use once the power ends. Side note: Morichro is quasi-latin for "death of time", since it basically puts the target in suspended animation. (It got misspelled somewhere along the line so it's not as close to the proper latin as it used to me.) Malacia is quasi-latin for "bad feeling", which is appropriate to a power that induces nausea and vertigo.

I forgot the name, but yes, Malacia is the one. Incidentally, Moricho is a blend of Latin and Greek - Chronos having to do with time, and Morior meaning "to die." Just so happens, I teach, speak, read, and write Latin. That's why I always thought Finis Valorum's name to be especially over-obvious. Even for Lucas. Thanks for the clarification. It is spent once it's initiated. I need to remember that. Argyle Jedi ps - npc name for this game is Decoris Aeca. Guesses as to the Latin there?
