Welcome, Gamer Nation, to D20 Radio's Deckplan Repository! The purpose of this thread is to provide a resource of ship deckplans for Star Wars SAGA Edition. If you made a deckplan for a starship, post in this thread with a formatted picture as well as a link where someone could download or copy the map and we’ll update the list here! Ideally, deck plans posted here should be in SAGA Standard 1 sq = 1.5m scale, and rooms should have a grid layout to them. (That being said, anyone who needs a grid on their map, simply ask and someone may be able to assist you!) Have at it Gamer Nation! Take some inspiration from D20 Radio’s own Chris West and show us what you got! Dude that is awesome! You have everything necessary for an adventuring party right there. You did a great job!
I like the 1930 design with the central cockpit. Those offset cockpits would have me running into stuff all the time.

I think you did a pretty good job with your deckplan, especially with how little cargo space the ship really has.

*Moved from post #1* Behold, my second attempt at ship layout design! This is the YT-1930, which can be found in Scum & Villainy. I made this map because the YT-1930 will be the party transport for my upcoming Infinities campain, "Order 65". Made with Paint Shop Pro X, the original file size is set to 1" squares, so I can (and probably will) print out this puppy at some point. I suppose I should number each of the rooms and have a key for which room is which... Donovan Morningfire wrote: I think you did a pretty good job with your deckplan, especially with how little cargo space the ship really has. Yeah, here's the original that I was working off of. There's a TON of dead-space, space that Mapmaker's YT-maps make use of. So I took inspiration from him and tweaked it a bit.

This is awesome, I'm looking for a ship to give to my players, and this might be the one I choose.
I'm wondering, did you do modified stats for this ship DarthGM?

I'm wondering, did you do modified stats for this ship DarthGM? Not only did we modify it, but I itemized the changes. http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... -freighterYou may notice all the upgrades are "Licensed" or "Common" restrictions. This is by design, they're working for the Republic, and there isn't a war on. The Fighter Cradle is a modification of my own design. Reprinted here because the thread went 90 days old and "poofed". Fighter Cradle The space lanes of the galaxy are a dangerous place. Transports carrying commodities and passengers between the stars frequently come under attack by pirates hoping to board the ship and steal cargo, or sometimes capture the crew as slaves. The most tempting targets for piracy are slow-moving space transports. Usually these freighters are easy targets, as they are commonly ill-equiped to deal with a serious pirate attack. Having an escort of starfighters flying protective cover is one way to deter an attack, but the cost to escort a freighter across the galaxy can be cost prohibative for many freighter captains. Larger freighters have the luxury of converning some of their cargo space into hanger bays, and can carry several fighters with them to provide their own protection. Smaller transports, with their limited size and cargo space, are unable to install a full hanger bay. The desire for light and medium freighters to carry their own fighter escort led to the development of the Fighter Cradle. A fighter cradle allows a space transport to carry one or more fighters internally, but without the space requirements of a full hanger bay. The cradle is simply a section of the ship's cargo bay that has been partitioned off and turned into a "pocket launch bay". A fighter cradle can be installed on any Colossal-sized vessel. Due to the cramped nature of the fighter cradle, no repair or maintenance work can be performed while a fighter is loaded into a cradle. Each Cradle has enough space to hold one starfighter. It takes two move actions to launch a fighter from a Fighter Cradle. To land in a fighter cradle the two ships must be in space, and the Space Transport must be at a dead stop to allow the fighter to align properly and dock with the cradle. Docking in a fighter cradle takes two consecutive full round actions from the pilot of the starfighter. If the Space Trapsort has a tractor beam, it can load the fighter into the cradle with it. It still requires the Space Transport to be at a full-stop, and uses two consecutive full-round actions from the gunner of the tractor beam. A fighter could be loaded into a fighter cradle on land, provided there is access to heavy equipment capable of lifting the fighter (or in some cases, the Space Transport). Any successful sensor scans of a space trasport with a fighter cradle also detects any loaded fighters in fighter cradles. ACCESSORY: Fighter Cradle EMPLACEMENT POINTS: 10 AVAILABILITY: Common SIZE RESTRICTION: Colossal COST: 2,500cr base Designer Notes: It's the intention of this equipment to provide fighter carrying capacity to light freighters; the most common vessels for a PC group to get their hands on. It let's PCs have a freighter and bring along a fighter or two for their fighter pilot themed teammates. While someone could theoretically load out a frigate with 100 of these cradles, and carry them into the battle, it really goes against the spirit of this Accessory. This is why it's limited to "Colossal" ships, and not "Colossal or larger". This gear could also be used to explain how ships like the J-1 shuttle are carrying a Gargantuan fighter, and is a modification to that ship that is used in the designer's games.

That's excellent. I've been trying to put a fun ship together, that would be able to hold an A-Wing or two, I think this might just be my (your) solution. Thanks for posting all of this.

This is great, DarthGM! Nice job. ...we should have a repository somewhere of all these deckplans folks do... EDIT: I guess I should just go ahead and re-link this: YT-2400 http://www.box.net/shared/xh5srni8by Used an old WEG sourcebook as a guide. It's probably a little on the small side, but the YT-2400 always seemed like a more compact design to me anyway. This ship was the PCs home-on-the-go from my old Dark Times campaign, "Imperials & Outlaws." Enjoy! I have some other deckplans I'm working on, but life has a way of side-tracking the best laid plans...

And you've shown me that I need to figure out a good way to make the "warning stripes" around the load-ramps. You know what, Fstark it; I've got my YT-1930 and my old VCX-650 plans from a few years back. You've got your YT-2400. I'm sure there's others out there from Gamer Nation who've made deck plans they want to share. If people think it would be handy, I'll start a new thread and we'll catalouge them for everyone's benefit. Does anyone else think a post like this would be useful?

I think this is a wonderful idea. I've taken the liberty of sticky-ing this thread (so it doesn't go "poof" after 90 days), and re-titling it. I encourage you all to post up and share you ship designs, enhancements, and maps. You go, GamerNation. You go.

Wow, you guys have both done a great job on your deckplans.
I actually am using the YT-1930 in the game I started running (New Republic Census) last night because of the great deck plans that Darth GM provided. I'm thinking if its okay with Darth GM, I'm going to scale up the size of his image and print out a map of the ship with one-inch squares.

Check out the new link in the first post for the 1sq@1" size! I didn't realize Flikr had a max image size, so I saved the plans over to another image hosting site in the actual size. Warning, this thing prints at 22" by 28". The VCX-650 even bigger. Hmmm...for some reason the image of the YT-1930 is smaller than the VCX-650...hope it still prints right...

"This will be a thread long remembered...." Thanks for the sticky, GMChris -- and all the kudos guys. DarthGM, way to kick it off. I feel I should note that my YT-2400 plans, while consisting of a lot of original Photoshop work, also make heavy use of SWM clip art from Chris Preksta ( http://starwarsmaps.blogspot.com/) and other randomly found sources on the web to fill out the various props, comp stations, control panels, bunks, etc -- probably even from Mr. West's designs, too. All credit to them and no infringement intended. It's inspiring work, gentlebeings, and I thank you for it! btw: I'm linking to my free Box account to share the image... is there a better way for posting pics/links here?

Dude, I'm pretty sure I use a lot of the same "pieces" you do. So big thanks to all those mapmakers like Chris Preksta and of course, Chris West. There's a great file available on the Holocron mapmaking site with 110 "set pieces" that I used. Which reminds me, we may want to have a series of links for were we've found good resources for mapmaking... I use imageshack for my maps, DG. Unlike Flikr, Imageshack allows me to upload a 3000px by 2200px image...
