I'm curious to see what folks will be taking on their various characters. Here's the basic list of options...

ArmorMech: Aim/Cunning Armors
ArmsTech: Non-lightsaber Weapons and Mods (Barrels)
Artifice: Strength/Willpower Weapons and Mods (Enhancements and Hilts), Shield Generators, Foci, Augments (unconfirmed)
BioChem: MedPacks, Stims, Implants
CyberTech: Universal Enhancements & Mods, Ear Attachments, Grenades, Ship Components, Speeder Bikes
Synthweaving: Jedi/Sith Armor

Only choose an option from the Poll if you really plan to sink some serious time and effort into it. You can dabble in BioChem, but not really plan to do much with it other than keep yourself stocked in MedPacks. On the other hand, you might be interested in cranking your Synthweaveing and really playing the Glactic Trade Network with your wares.

Of course, some folks don't plan to do much for crafting, but may take gathering skills to support their income and the guild.

Just wanting to get an idea if the Guild is deficient in some areas, and plentiful in others.

I'm all over Biochem.... I feel in love with it before my skill ever got to 100...

My smuggler will definitely be a Biochemist
My trooper will probably go for the ArmorTech since he will be my tank toon.

Yeah, I've got a fond memory of making armor back in SWG. Something I want to try to re-create here. I also want to do Artifice, from a character standpoint. I like the idea of my big blue Consular having an Indiana Jones/Archaeologist bent.

I think I will do my best to force my other alts to be resource monkeys to shovel funds and components to my crafing characters. It'll be a harge urge to resist, but really, I should probably try.

;)

Cybertech, Armstech, and Artifice, in that order.

Smuggler's gotta look out for his ship, yo?

I'll likely dabble across the rest with my horde of alts, but those will be the foci for Captain HammerSmith of the Cyber-Dynamics Legacy and server associated Legacy contributors. (Father of all things MR5M1TH, and the TGT program!)

Crafting definitely gets expensive quick... even when you aren't buying mats... the recipies jump in price quick... I found my JK poor alot just through buying the available recipies and skill ups as I progressed into my 20s.

Ain't that the truth.

I'm pondering making only Heavy and Light armors on my Jedi Knight, at least at start. Just to keep things "reasonable". Leave Medium Armor Synthweaving off just to help with costs at low levels.

My Knight will be doing Synthweaving, my Consular will be doing Artifice, my Smuggler will be doing just gathering (maybe Biochem), and my Trooper will be doing Armormech (not Armorcraft).

Unless you're leveling up both a Knight and a Consular in parallel, I wouldn't even do that. Just buy the Light Armor recipes when you have an alt that can actually use it, which could be many levels after it becomes available.

I intend to focus my main on gathering and missions. We'll see what actually happens on launch day.

I'm leaning toward Synthweaving, but Artifice and Biochem are possibilities, as well. I think I'll use gathering skills while levelling and move forward from there. If Synthweaving doesn't have any unique-looking BoP gear, I'll most likely drop it.

Whatever I choose, there's going to be some major crafting done.
