Since my children are getting older, I have this crazy option for my wife and I to break-away and do some odd and fun things for say a weekend.
I have never been to a large con before, but would like to. Now that my wife plays pathfinder, she's not against the idea of running to a con with me. REJOICE! Gencon looks freakin huge and cool, but Paizocon looks like you can actually talk to people who share a love of pathfinder.
So, help an old guy out. Please let me know which con you would go to if you could Paizocon or GenCon and why. We are in the mid-west so Gencon is closer, but lets dream a bit and not make that a determining factor.
Thanks a ton!

Without a doubt, PaizoCon for certain.
It is a much more intimate, Pathfinder-centric event with under 700 people attending. You get hands on access to the entire company. They debut special Society events created just for the Con and spoil you rotten with awesome schwag-bags.
GenCon is awesome, don't get me wrong. But it can be an overwhelming experience even for veteran convention goers! 30K people attending. Lots more walking. Lines and ticket sales/sign ups for events...
Let your first be a gem. Spend a little more to travel father and have 1000% the quality experience!
I'll be there.

Thanks Az! Never been to Washington before, looks like I just found an excuse to go Now to figure out how to break up the trip for my smoke breaks (needed to keep my AC up). I have been lurking (+8) for info on the two cons on the web. Saw a page announcing the 2011. What is up the max 500 attendee thing? Is the venue small?

PaizoCon is an amazing experience every year, I highly recommend it. And June in Seattle is great weather.

This is another +1 for PaizoCon. Awesome gig, lots of cool people, and it feels more like an insider's con, and allows you to hang with the folks that make things happen in Pathfinder land.
