Hi guys... just want to say major props for getting this monster cast out!!!
That said, I gotta apologise - normally I DEVOUR your show as soon its released but insanity and real life have crowded out the time I normally use to enjoy the show.
I'll post my renewed appreciation in a day or two after I beat back the work demons and settle in for a big listen.

Great show as always. I enjoy the analyses of adventures even if I don't intend to play them; there is always something I can take away (or make sure to avoid) and that's worth the price of admission right there. I'm also very happy with the ongoing Hero Lab interviews. It was also fun hearing Greg Vaughan and Clinton Boomer on the same show; comparing their ideas and personalities made for an interesting contrast.
However, I wanted to point out that at least -some- of your listeners, including me, listen to conservative talk shows. Mike seemed stunned that Clinton Boomer would appear on such a show. Sure, the crossover isn't an obvious one, but when is RPG gaming ever an obvious crossover with any non-gaming media? I sincerely doubt that the average liberal journalist would have been any more hip to the RPG world than were the guys Boomer interviewed with. Suffice it to say that to my certain knowledge there are many conservative gamers and some of those listen to shows like the ones you mentioned. I have no idea what shows these were, but isn't a greater exposure to our hobby, especially through someone who knows their stuff like Clinton Boomer, a good thing? I think so.

Hi Tar! As an Indepent (polically) and a Christian (religiously) I kinda feel I have to take certain "view points" of media with a spoonful of sugar. For this particular situation, IMHO, this grouping of interviews were trying for a sensationalize story to splash. Most media has lost that "objective reporting". I think of this more of horrible reporting by a group with an agenda. Just my thoughts.

How do you know? Did you hear any of the broadcasts? I didn't, so I can't say.
Frankly, I've played RPGs for more than 30 years and never once have I read or heard anything in the non-gaming media that really got us. From what Mike was saying, the reporter was interested in MMO's and thought Boomer would talk about that. That doesn't make it horrible reporting, just the usual lack of background.
I suppose it -could- have been horrible, but Mike didn't say that. He just seemed put off by the fact that it was conservative.

Tarondor,
You don't know Boomer. He is near the top of the list of "most liberal people in the game industry" you could name. THAT is why we were amazed he went on those shows at all.
As for any contempt you might have detected in the hosts' voices? Well, Azmyth lives in and loves the San Francisco Bay area. Research works at UC Berkeley. I'm from the capital of even still-further-to-the-Left liberalism in North America, which would be Toronto - a place where probably fully HALF of so-called conservative radio show hosts in the USA would literally be thrown in JAIL for violating our laws against promoting hatred against minorities.
We don't discuss politics on Chronicles -- but if we did? I'ma guessin' it might not be to your liking.

Dude, we even have the Chicago Cubs farm team here So yes, I heard one of them rebroadcast and fipped if off about ten minutes in. Not trying to start anything with you, honestly, just saying that what I heard, they kept trying to push their view on him. The one Az put on http://www.pathfinder-podcast.com in the file section was the only "nice" one I heard. If it were on MSNBC or CNN, I would have the same opinion. I do, however, agree with what you said about getting exposure of the hobby we have. Its nice to see the "outside" world take a look at us and ask the "what, how, and why". Take Care

I found the location of the house that inspired the thieves guild. Not sure if I'm the first to do so. The address that was given out is slightly wrong. It's North Walnut Avenue. Anyhow... The House

Hey, just wanted to say awsome show guys. It was worth the wait! I wish I could tell you that one thing was better than another but I can't. It was all great! On a side note, I'm a conservative and I don't hold your leftness against you. Great job guys! GO GAMERS!

Not trying to pick a fight guys; however, I could definitely hear the perplexed tone of voice Steel Wind had while contemplating what a conservative could possibly get out of gaming ("Slay the Devil!").
I didn't notice this was already being addressed on this thread when I started another. Feel free to move that one here.
By the way I am just promoting your "gamers without boarders" program. I don't think that gaming really has or attracts a certain type of person politically speaking. Just intelligent imaginative ones.
Also I do take some exception of the conservatives being thrown in jail for "promoting hatred against minorities" comment. Examples please? All Conservatives are not racists any more then all liberals are on food stamps, or all San Francisco residents are homosexuals.

Are you sure about that? Quote: Also I do take some exception of the conservatives being thrown in jail for "promoting hatred against minorities" comment. Examples please? All Conservatives are not racists any more then all liberals are on food stamps, or all San Francisco residents are homosexuals. If you read a little more carefully and quote what I actually said, you would see that my comment was " fully HALF of so-called conservative radio show hosts in the USA ", not conservatives, generally. And yes, given the nature of conservative talk radio in the USA, the nature of "shock radio" in that milieu and Canada's laws concerning the prohibition against promotiing hatred against minority groups (muslims and, most especially homosexuals being the most germane examples), that was -- and remains -- an accurate comment.

I'm not going to address that other than to say that I do not agree, even a little. What I do want to point out was that -I- didn't say anything about politics, right or left. I just wanted to point out that there -are- conservative gamers. I'm one.
Oh, and apropos of nothing much, I was born in Concord, California, Azmyth's home town.

I think one of the reasons we don't discuss politics on the podcast is that it would likely digress into areas that don't have anything to do with the podcast, which is about Pathfinder, not politics.
Shortly thereafter, we probably wouldn't be on speaking terms.
Enough said.

I wasn't trying to go down the road of flaming over politics. Was just making a quick point that it's not absurd that there are a lot of conservative gamers out there. I may have read more into your comment on the Podcast then you meant.
Anyway, I really would like to hear the full interviews that were given on the various radio programs Boomer was a guest on. Do you have a link?
Great Episode by the way guys! Keep um coming!
