Were there any more monster-design seminars at Paizo con? Are there any old monster design seminars from previous cons that could be posted? I love to make my own monsters, and update old monsters. I have all of the loose-leaf Monster Manual pages from 2e, and I'm always digging through those for monster ideas.

There were three recorders deployed at PaizoCon...
Unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned and we lost all of its data.

The monster building, character building, open design and one other one I can't remember.

Darn! I would really love to hear the monster design seminar. Do you know if anyone else was recording that day?

Every time I listen to one of your podcasts I want to play. I haven't had a chance to, have all the books in PDF and created a PFS character some time ago.

I noticed that we now have a Venture-Lieutenant here in Brattleboro, VT (about 30 min from me) and I'm planning on contacting him. As Venture-Captains, how would you prefer to be contacted, through Paizo's forums or direct email? Also how much info/background should I exclude?

Thanks.

Both -- PM and cc: via e-mail.

There is no need for info/background if all you are looking to do is play. If you are proposing to start a local public event -- different story.

Thanks. I'm a loyal Chronicles listener, but I really want to hear those seminars.

Thanks Steel, I'll get right on it!

Speaking of seminar recordings, Paizo has announced their seminar lineup for GenCon 2012, and I'd really appreciate it if you guys could record the "Secrets of RPG Editing" seminar. I love those "Secrets of..." seminars.

We will try and record as many as we possibly can. We actually had another 5 or 6 seminars recorded from Paizocon 2012, but the recording quality on the device that was used was, sadly. just horribad and the output was unusable.

We will be using two Mikeys and iPods at Gencon and so we hope it will work out better. I'm not going to Gencon this year, however, and as Azmyth is running six slots of Pathfinder Society and Cherry is working practically the whole con at the PFS headquarters, our ability to get these seminars recorded is not as unfettered as we would prefer. I will be bugging Mark to make sure he does as much as he can to get many of them recorded though -- and there will be others present at these seminars who may be able to help out.

Whatever the case, we'll do our best. The ability to podcast seminars at major conventions has dramatically changed the nature of all seminars at Gencon and Paizocon. Whereas before most of these "free" events reached a room of only 20 to 50 people -- these seminars now literally reach over 10,000+ fans. It is a dramatic sea-change in the nature of the seminars and all publishers are adapting to the realities and using them to their best advantage. Apart from the cost of the seminar room (they are not free) the cost to host a seminar and have it reach 10,000 people is essentially ZERO for any publisher. A more cost effective way to get a highly personalized and unfiltered message out to fans in the hobby has not yet been devised.

Though YouTube comes pretty close and for all the same reasons :)

It sounds like we need to get right to work on that human cloning thing.

We appreciate all you guys do. I don't have the time off or the budget to travel to the cons. The best I can do is a couple of days at MobiCon, my local convention. Having the podcast recordings makes suck a little less. If it happens, we love it. If it doesn't happen, tell the crew to have fun and bring us tales of sin and debauchery... ahem, I mean "gaming and loot."

Hey, just heard you were looking for the Monster Design seminar. Like Steel said, Know Direction recorded several of the PaizoCon seminars and released them as individual specials, including the Monster Design seminar.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I've been listening to their coverage while waiting for Episode 18. The "things you don't need to know" with Wolfgang Bauer was interesting.
