I recently started playing pathfinder and find myself with a question:

Can a magic (+1) weapon bypass DR X/silver? or is that a feverish dream of editions of yore?

Also, I'm playing one of their adventure path and I'm finding the DC for skills in the first adventure to be ridiculously high. 20+ on some rolls? for 1st level characters?

Yes and no. A +1 Weapon will not bypass DR/silver under RAW, but a +3 or greater weapon will. The chart you seek is on page 562 of the Core Rulebook.

Note that Az and I are currently house-ruling against this. We think the rule, which Pathfinder preserved from 3.5, is cheesy and undermines the importance of special materials from within the game at essentially 8th or 9th level on up.

The +3 isn't close to being an issue as the players are only level 2 still, but I am throwing them against a wereboar and I wanted to make sure if I should offer them some silver weapons or not.

Even with silver weapons a werebear might be a problem - I had a PC die from a werewolf in my Kingmaker campaign at level 2 (critical with the longsword in hybrid form, but still...)

The half-orc fighter can take the damage he's been at 1 or 0 Hp many times and we've barely begun the adventure path...
I'm just giving them the occasion to get some extra gold to outfit the caravan.

IF necessary, I'll adjust and just have them be captured.
