I ended a game about a month and a half to 2 months ago and we have just started another game ran by another gm. We've been looking forward to that game, so I am back in the player role. We also have another one of the players (Tal Akaan on these boards) who has another homebrew game in mind, so my idea is on the backburners right now, but because I have another game in mind, I plan to start working on it, because it is going to be quite a bit of work.

Now for my idea (without giving away too much of what I have so far) --- the game will take place in basically a post-apocalyptic United States. It will be Darksiders-ish, and I am thinking for the first session part of it will be pre-apocalypse and some post-apocalypse. I know how I want the first session to work out and I know what person/persons/creatures/whatever the big bad(s) are going to be.

I am looking for feedback on what the gamer nation thinks of my idea and what I could possibly do for quests and other stuff. Since I don't want to give too much away in this thread, because I know Tal checks them occasionally, if you want any more info on what I have so far, go ahead and send me a pm and I can give you what i've got.

Edit---Forgot to mention I want to run this using Pathfinder. With it being the apocalypse and all, anything can happen. Just curious what you all that of the idea.

SETTING:
For the setting of this game, I would select a specific region and leverage the available maps to really flesh out the damage done during the apocalyptic event. I would keep the area limited so that I could breath real life into it, instead of making the entire state (or country) a sandbox.

CRITTERS:
I think I would develop an effect or exposure that sets your monsters apart from the standard PFRPG. Like a radiation or a toxicity template. Also, I'd create some weird or alien effect that boosts the intelligence of critters that normally are not. :)

You might want to consider allowing Psionics. It certainly fits with the feel of the game. I like what the Dreamscarred folks have done with Psionic rules for PF.

Good Luck!
