What a great show!!!! Loved the Femme Fatale! You gave me a ton to consider with building this character. I cant wait to start playing her with, of course, my attempt at a Russian accent. I think Natasha would be a good name... maybe Nikkita. :P

Well, considering that the Ultimate Build Lass requested had to include primary ass-kickery capabilities, my take on this isn't quite appropriate.....but a mondo-cat-suited superspy Black Widow DOES still need a Nemesis to ....bounce..... off.

to that end...

Whispering on repulsors the chair pivoted to face her revealing a Golden-furred Wookiee wearing a calculating sneer and nothing else, casually stroking the ears of an albino ewok adorned with an Adgean Crystal collar purring in his lap.....

Oh, ummmmm, Dave? Chris? Karaoke Kantina isn't a part of the available DL for the show.

The 'cast ends after the D20Radio Disclaimer at 1:29:13 at an 81.6MB file.

Partly based-on/in-response-to Lass's ultimate build request, I created this build unarmed sexy/stealthy/somewhat-social martial-artist/commando/demolitions-expert

viewtopic.php?p=76114#p76114

Lass thought it was a "slick build" but thought that the modified rad trooper armor would take away from the sex appeal... I thought of a great one liner, about how a woman "going commando" could be really attractive (depending on the woman). But I gave ep 138 a listen this morning and thought I could customize the wraith build to be less commando and more sexy spy. So (reposted from the ultimate build thread)

human female
Starting attributes:
STR 12, DEX 12, CON 12, WIS 12, INT 14, CHA 14

10: Elite Trooper 2; Scores: BaB 9, Ref 26, Fort 25, Will 22, HP 95; Special Quality: DR 1
11: Elite Trooper 3; Scores: BaB 10, Ref 27, Fort 26, Will 23, HP 105; Talent: improved stealth
12: Vangaurd 1; Scores: BaB 11, Ref 28, Fort 27, Will 24, HP 113; Talent: hidden movement; feat: Rancor Crush; attribute increases: STR 15, CHA 17
13: Infiltrator 1; Scores: BaB 11, Ref 31, Fort 28, Will 26, HP 119; Talent: creeping approach
14: Infiltrator 2; Scores: BaB 12, Ref 32, Fort 29, Will 27, HP 125; Special Quality: Unarmed Stun(+1 die).. note that this means she can deal 3d10+STR+7 unarmed stun damage, if it exceeds your threshold you move 2 steps down the condition track, if she pins you, you loose your dexterity bonus so dastardly strike applies to the crush damage, add in bone crusher, and rancor crush and thats -3 steps on the condition track If SHE DOES NOT EXCEED YOUR DAMAGE THRESHOLD and -5 STEPS if she does, good night
15: Infiltrator 3; Scores: BaB 13, Ref 33, Fort 30, Will 28, HP 146; Talent: silent take down; feat: toughness
16: Infiltrator 4; Scores: BaB 14, Ref 34, Fort 31, Will 29, HP 153; Special Quality: lead infiltrator (she gets to make stealth checks for up to 4 allies); attribute increases: CON 13, CHA 18
17: Saboteur 1; Scores: BaB 14, Ref 35, Fort 32, Will 32, HP 160; Talent: security slicer; special quality: unexpected results

19: Saboteur 3; Scores: BaB 16, Ref 37, Fort 34, Will 34, HP 174; Talent: trace
20: Elite Trooper 4; Scores: BaB 17, Ref 38, Fort 36, Will 35, HP 205; Special Quality: DR 2; attribute increases: STR 16, CON 14

The character would wear a thinsuit (read as skin tight black cat suit, very black widow) that was "stripped of joint protection" (reduces max dexterity bonus, which this build isn't limited by) has either shadowskin or shadowskin reflec (depending on your budget), a second upgrade I'd recommend one of the following:
*integrated equipment 5 slots
*jump servos
*climbing claws...one of the key advantages is that you gain a claw attack as a beast of your size, i.e. base damage of 1d6 which stacks with martial arts bringing your unarmed damage dice size to 1d12,
*shockweb
*holoshroud (a quick change to look like a completely different person, but a better way to do that is using the holoshroud from force unleash as integrated equipment)
*repulsorlift (get past a pressure sensitive floor)
*ready harness

And of course grab the stuff that costs no upgrade points: vacuum seals 10 hours (0 upgrade slots and let's you wear a helmet with it, optional whether you wear it), helmet package (0 upgrade slots, for when you do wear the helmet). And you want to superior tech it for reinforcing armor (grants DR 2, I think
this should stack with what you get from elite trooper, not 100% sure on that, otherwise get superior fortifying armor, increases Fort bonus by +2). The ref def bonus for a thinsuit is --- which is different than a ref def bonus of 0, the difference is it doesn't cause you to lose your heroic level to reflex defense.

you could get a theed arms s-5 ascension gun with the improved energy cell upgrade, stripped of the stun setting, miniaturized (so you can use it as integrated equipment), tech spec'd to give the dart launcher autofire (10 darts = 1 area attack with paralytic poison coated darts); at least 1 fire knife, tech spec'd to add an upgrade slot with neutronium reinforcement and durasteel bonding, DR+10, double weight, +10 hitpoints, crit on a 19 or 20, deals an extra die of damage (after doubling) on a crit, damage: 2d4 (fire knives ignore the DR of unattended objects); garrote; data dagger coated with paralytic poison; utility belt; security kit (before level 17); lock breaking kit; explosives; etc.

So I was wondering what GM Chris and Dave thought of my build, ironically as dave said in the case, the top 3 stats are Charisma, Int and STR. Thoughts abouthow the climbing claws armor upgrade would intract with martial artsand how reinforced armor would interact with the elite trooper's DR?

Cool discussion on what could be a very subjective character type.

Slightly surprised that the GMs didn't really go into what species would excel for this sort of build. Twi'leks with their ability to re-roll Deception checks and boost to Charisma are a natural choice. Zeltrons as well if going more the "charming face" route given their boost to Persuasion when changing attitudes, while Falleen have a sneakier method of the "you really like me" route, and both have a bonus to Charisma and no hit on Dexterity or Intelligence.

As Elias struck upon in one of his numerous build threads, a Near-Human could drop the Human bonus feat (they probably really need the extra trained skill for all the things they need to cover) could take the trait that lets them double their Charisma bonus to Persuasion vs. Humans and human-like species.

On a gear note, consider taking a blaster pistol and applying the Minaturized upgrade from Scum & Villainy. You've now got a Tiny pistol (easy to hide) that does 3d6 damage and has plenty of ammo. Yeah, it won't jive with some of the Infiltrator abilities, but a GM can hand-wave that since the weapon has been "redesigned" to be stealthy.

Thanks for answering my Tusken Raider question. I took your advice, did a google search and came up with the stats breakdown. Awesome!

My player in our Dawn of Defiance campaign play a spy, inspired by Brad Pitts character in Spy Game.
I thought I should mention a few things to take in consideration.

Conspiracy
Conspiracy is a background from the Rebellion Campaign Guide.
Conspiracy have two advantages, first it adds an optional skill to your class skill out of Deception, Stealth and Use Computer.
Second it allows you to reroll any perception check to sense deception or influence, and keep the better result.

Knowledge Social Sciences
As someone who studied psychology and anthropology myself, this is one awesome skill. The applications for psychology when playing a spy is numerous. Hints about a characters current mental state can be picked up by perception sure, but if you are adept at psychology you simply know what to expect.

Use Computer
A modern spy in a setting liket his might not become the best slicer, but being at least trained in Use Computer and having access to spy accessories like an Xqalq Stealth Pack is nice.

Sniping
Much of the show deals with martial arts, but a spy could just as well be a great sniper.
For our build, I have made sure that the player have access to Infiltrator, Saboteur, Assassin and Vanguard. Note that beyond 4th level is a plan.

Build
Species: Human
Background: Conspiracy (Use Computer added to tree)

1 Scout: Starting Feat: Informer, Human Feat: Skill Focus (Stealth), Talent: Improved Stealth
2 Scoundrel: (Point Blank Shot, Deception as class skill) Talent: Dastardly Strike (for assassin)
3 Scout: Class Feat: Skill Training (Deception), Character Feat (Precise Shot)
4 Scout: Talent: Hidden Movement
5 Scoundrel: Class Feat: Deadeye
6 Soldier: Talent: Devastating Attack, Character Feat: Sniper
7 Soldier: Class Feat: Sniper Shot
8 Infiltrator...

So I was thinking of building a femme fatale type character for an upcoming game and this episode has been a great help. However I was also thinking of making the character a Force User, the GMs mentioned that if you wanted to make a Force sensitive Femme Fatale that it would be a totally different build. Are there any plans to discuss that build? My worry is that adding being a Force User, on top of an already very full build might just be one ability too far? Any thoughts or help on such a build would be appreciated.

Force use ON TOP OF all that we discussed would probably be a bit too much. What we meant was that a hardcore Force User is a dedicated character path in its own right.

However... if you find your Femme Fatale NPC with two character feats to spare...

You could Take Force Sensitivity and Force Training - and learn a couple Force Powers that would really help this build.

There are some obvious choices from the Core Rulebook that are perfect utility powers made for nearly any build: Surge, and the ubiquitous Move Object.

Using the Force for defensive ability is another good choice for the build, with options like Negate Energy and the more impressive (and easy to take advantage of) Force Shield.

For a nice flavorful twist, though - I highly recommend both Blind and Cloak. They really fit the "spy" motif and can be highly usefull powers to get somewhere unnoticed, supplement your attacks, and beat a hasty retreat.

Building off the discussion in your last episode, this would also be another build that could make impressive use of the phase power should your GM let you have access to it.

Cool, thanks for the quick response. I think I'm willing to let the character be not quite as great at the hand to hand stuff for the versatility the Force can add to my concept.
